TOO HOT?? Link to an excellent earlier thread on dehyrdation
It will only be in the hundreds today for me (and has been ALL week), but it will climb to 112 this Sunday, which is pretty darn hot for Chico, CA. I have already been in the creek once this am and will be back again...

I am linking to Cerridwen's great thread on heat stroke, but wanted to add another tip that I don't think was included.

Fans and swamp coolers will NOT prevent heat stroke, if you are in one of the heat wave areas and IF you don't have air conditioning or a pool, or your power goes out, get your butt into town and go to your library, book store, grocery store or anywhere else that may have air conditioning.

Hope everyone survives this small taste of what global warming will do to us.

Heat Warning! Hydration is NOT enough. Get out of the heat!

1. Panting and sweating here
but it is the last day of this for us. 102 now with an index of 110 but tomorrow it is going to struggle to make it to 80. I can't wait to be done with this, it has been a steam bath.

From one who works outside, thank you all for the information.

3. feeling a little parched myself - when you throw suntan lotion on
your skin probably shouldn't make this long wet sucking sound.

6. Title misleading. It's not about dehydration. It's about over-heating.
