When we finally prove 2004 was stolen, do we get to replace Alito?
Or do we just wait for a Democratic president, to watch him pull a 180 on his "theories" re. expansion of executive power?

if you mean, do we get to replace Alito if he's impeached...here's what it'd take...

Alito would have to be impeached AND convicted...thereby removed from office.

THEN, WE would get to replace him only if we controlled the White House - of course, what would happen if the 2004 election was PROVEN to be fraudulent? - No one has confronted such an event in the nation's history...either Bush stays on, crippled and impotent (and thereby incapable of naming another nutjob and getting them through) or Kerry gets in (I highly doubt this would happen)

Article 1. Section 3.
The Senate shall have the sole Power to try all Impeachments. When sitting for that Purpose, they shall be on Oath or Affirmation. When the President of the United States is tried, the Chief Justice shall preside: And no Person shall be convicted without the Concurrence of two thirds of the Members present.

Judgment in Cases of Impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from Office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States: but the Party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to Indictment, Trial, Judgment and Punishment, according to Law.


Article 2. Section 4.
The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.

At some point in history, it will be generally acknowledged as fact that 2000 and 2004 were both stolen. Nothing will ever be legally "proven." That's the way it works, and it can take a l-o-o-o-o-o-n-g time for it to be recorded historically as the fact it is.

The Dem President will have absolute power, thanks to Alito providing it for Chimpy. The Dem Prez simply walks in and tells him, Roberts, Thomas, and Scalia to clear out their desks, they are fired. He then will dust his hands after a job well done, and get to fixing the country.

I want to see that Dem President nationalize the FOXNews channel, then re-program the network with shows like "DINO House" in which people like Hillary, Nelson, Feinstein, Lieberman and Pelosi (Didn't you get the memo? We hate her now too!) have to live all together in one big house and vote once a week to evict someone from the house. Who then gets killed, after being tortured by Julie Chen using the torture method selected by the viewers that week. "So it looks like I'll be waterboarding Senator Feinstein - right after these messages!"

What would be coolest though would be this: and it actually makes sense, because it stands to reason that time travel will play a key role in "proving" that the 2004 election was stolen: Once it's proven and duly prosecuted, the universal plea deal will include returning the whole world to Election Eve, 2004 - we'll all be that much younger - the election results will match the exit polls, and we'll wake up the next morning to John Kerry as the dreamy new President-Elect of the United States. NGU! You gotta BELIEVE!

and I thought the original poster had hit the depths of delusional thinking. Do you really want any politician to have absolute power? Isn't preventing such a thing, one of the major purposes of that pesky little constitution. And of course, no prez can walk in and fire any of the Justices, even if the ludicrous scenario of the original poster played out.

When I get serious, I talk with tempered tones. I'm rarely serious on these threads.

Of course I don't want absolute power for anyone in this country, especially any President. I'm just joking out loud at the logical conclusions of Alito's ideology, and Bush's ambitions to abuse it. If this happens, then there will be no successor to Bush until he dies and names an heir, so a Dem Prez doing anything is moot.

If we are unable to block him, could add "Impeach Alito for gross incompetence" to the list (the guy doesn't know whether or not the USA is a dictatorship).

To Do List:
  1. Filibuster Alito

  2. Win Democratic Control of Congress

  3. By popular demand, Make John Conyer's Speaker of the House

  4. Impeach and Convict Bush and Cheney

  5. Swear in President Conyers

  6. Impeach Kennedy, O'Connor, Rehnquist (posthumously), Scalia and Thomas for their criminal Bush v.Gore edict

  7. Continue investigations, bring indictments, and purge Bush Syndicate Henchmen and their Fascist co-conspirators from power

  8. Pass a Congressional Resolution to Reverse Every Executive Order and Bill Passed During the illegitiimate Bush Regime

Perhaps we'll never see President Conyers sworn in (movement to make him Speaker in '07 could fail), but I won't stop until all the other items are checked off -- no matter how long it takes.
