"Why do you keep criticizing President Bush...he's doing the best he can "
"He's trying to protect you."

Granted, that may be true. However, if the best he can do is the incompetent, embarrassing, and unsafe job he is presently doing, shouldn't he be criticized? Even more than criticism, shouldn't he resign and get the hell out of the way and let competent adults run the show? Wouldn't we be better off if he just resigned and left town tomorrow? Hasn't he done enough damage?

If there are those that wish to say he's doing a "great" job because we haven't been attacked since 9/11, what about on 9/11? Where was he at on that tragic day? If they are satisfied with the "low spark of high heel boys" and the "soft bigotry of low expectations", that is no excuse to make the rest of this nation suffer through their poor decisions for voting for and supporting this sorry excuse of a leader. Admit your mistakes and lets move on.

13. exactly
all these people who are suddenly so appalled at anyone who would dare to say anything against Fearless Leader were the first ones to take pot shots at Clinton for 8 years. :eyes:

2. He's not trying.
But good point. Even if he were, actions speak louder than words. He's clearly unqualified for the job and I think even the staunchest supporters know that deep down in their "hearts."

4. I don't think we need to worry.

He will be out after November, anyway.

5. But the effects of his failure will last far beyond November
and someone else will have to clean up his mess and suffer the consequences, just like it's been throughout his entire miserable failure of a life.

11. "He's doing the best he can"
That's a sentiment I can't believe would have ever been applied to any other president this country has ever had.

Our president should be better than average. Our president should strive to know more than us, to operate more efficiently than we expect, and to surprise us with his tact and deftness.

Our president should wield the greatest military power in the world with humility and restraint. He should unleash it only with regret, but with confidence and surety that it will be done appropriately, as quickly as possible, and with as little harm to non-military targets as possible.

And when he fails at something -- and he will, regardless of his greatness -- he should come before his country's citizens and tell us of his failings, but assure us that his greatest desire is to learn from his failure and become a better leader because of it.

If he's seen as elite, intellectual, snobbish, superior -- so be it. Just lead this country well.

"He's doing the best he can" -- I'll save that sentiment for someone I pity, but not for someone who should rise to the highest standard in the world, a standard set by great men and women of the past, and hold his own, if not do more.

12. One should never question or criticize The Leader. No matter
what he does, stand at attention, click the heels of your hobnail boots together, and cry out "we're number one!" while giving a stiff-armed salute.

Or does that only work in "Star Trek?"

I don't know about anyone else, but I expect better from my elected leaders, and if this is the best he can do, he shouldn't be there.

Edited on Thu Jul-20-06 01:54 PM by pauldp
Is pissing off the entire muslim world with an illegal invasion
of Iraq based on lies protecting us?

Is doing business with major Al Qaeda financiers like Kaled Bin Mafouz
and Adnan Kashoggi protecting us?

Is selling our ports to Dubai trying to protect us?

Is escorting the Bin Laden family out of the country
after 911 trying to protect us?

No you stupid f*cks he is trying to make war profits for himself
and his defense and energy industry cronies. Period.

him...considering he's drunk or on meds most of the time.

Without the media to call out his incapacities what are we to do? Congress and Senate except for the very few Dems who've stood up to him seem to think he's doing his job just fine...but then what does that say about "them."

25. Bush and Republicans suffer from the "Soft Bigotry of Low Expectations"
Sometimes, the best you can do is just not good enough.

Making this guy Pretzledent, is like handing the clerk at 7/11 a scalpel and asking them to operate on your brain. I'm sure they'd to the "best they could do", but I doubt you'd live with the results.
