1. I don't think that people should be esp. surprised
That people would direct their anger at the US as well as Israel.

With our Congress supporting the aggression with resolutions and with the US supplying Israel with weapons and jet fuel, etc.

Also see AIPAC site for more about US military/Israel Military and Intelligence cooperation.

We - our country, is a part of it - whether WE like it or not.

3. We are NOT calling for a cease fire. We sold them the bombs.
We finance their army. We have stood by while this situation simmered to a boil.
Hence.....

5. Another completely unexpected turn of events /sarcasm
They're not wrong to protest on behalf of the Lebanese and Palestinians. But somehow I fear their perspective is as slanted as that on the Israel/American side. If only it wasn't human nature to pick sides, and instead to see and universally denounce murder no matter who the doer is.

6. How many threads are you going to post on this subject?
You seem to be saying the same thing in all of them. I think we fully understand your position on this issue.

Just so you know, at first, when this started, after the kidnappin and murder of Israeli servicemen, for the first day or two, I felt that Israel had the right to go into southern Lebanon. As events unfold, I know that it is clear that Israel wants to destroy the whole country, and acts as though it doesn't care who gets killed or maimed, or what gets destroyed in the process. War crimes? It's sure looking like it. But what is your ax to grind. Why do you feel the need to keep repeating the same mantra?

11. why do you keep reading them ? personally this is the first one i read
and i find it enlightening..

don't read what you don't want to read..its as simple as that..unless you do not want others to read and learn or become enlightened..is that "your" problem?

you do not want others to learn?? or discuss other points of interest than your own??

this is a forum for all to discuss what interests them...

is there a problem with that for you?? you do seem to try to stop the op from posting ..but then you inject your own opinions...should we all tell you we are tired of your opinions?? now that probably would not sit well with you..
but "your opinion" of someone posting info numerous times bugs you??

seems i missed this discussion before and i am thankful someone ( op) posted this again..so i didn't miss it!

use the hide thread button...or go read what interests you..censorship is what most of here are fighting ..against in our government ..we do not need it from people on DU...its counterproductive...

i thank the op, for bringing this to my attention...

12. This is the first thread that I have seen on this subject.
If you don't want to see her (or my) threads - you do have the ignore option - you won't see any of them.

If you are trying to be the DU censor - you should forget it.

14. Position? I'm not looking at a position here, but I am concerned when I
see major protests against the US going on in Pakistan, for one place. If enough anger is stirred up there is Musharef (sp?) 1 or 2 riots away from a possible military coup? Afterall we did have to basically bribe Pakistan into being our allies didn't we? Since Musharef (sp?) came into power by coup I wonder if angry folks will coup his ass and then who would be in charge?

Since the most hated man on the planet seems to be dragging the reputation of the country and its citizens down with him, I think it's a good idea for me to know who hates us just a little more today than they did yesterday.

It's not like there are any terrorist organizations that would attack us or anything.

Both countries are attacking Muslims in order to wipe out Islam.

Remember: Religion can be a variety of ethnicity. In this case, the Muslims are always right. The non-Muslims always do things for the worst possible reason.

On edit: Pakistan is SW Asia. It's less Middle East and mor South Asia.

10. Are we at a turning point where bombing and killing of civilians with
American weapons becomes too much for the peoples of the world to bear?

A turning point like the mass slaughter of those in Nazi Germany that caused the Geneva Convention rules to have acceptance?

How things have turned around where the Persecuted become the Persecutors. Will we all say "NEVER AGAIN" and mean it and make sure it applies to everyone.

I keep thinking of Gandi's statement: "An eye for an eye and after awhile the world goes blind."

It does seem that it would to that eventually.

It makes me sick.
