This Israeli spokesperson on with Wolf: 100 million in arms from Syria
to Hezbollah...must stop suppying Hezbollah? Is no one to be armed except Israel? Is no country permitted to send arms to help their allies excapt the US. Compare 100 million to 3 billion that the US sends to Israel.

2. So the people of Lebanon
aren't allowed to arm themselves? They aren't supposed to respond to nightly bombings?

3. Why is it ok to arm a terrorist organization?
Would it be ok with you if Syria armed Al Qaeda (sorry, can't spell it)?

That would be a strawman argument if it contained enough straw to build one.

Now if Syria was arming the LEBANON government so that it could police its own borders and root out Hezbollah from its midst, that would be fine with me. But Syria arming terrorists does not compare in any way to American aid to Israel.

group they must accept that there will be those who support the opposing side. If you can't stand the heat, get the hell out of the kitchen and stop throwing grease on the flames. I don't consider Hezbollah to be a terrorist group, despite the label by the US and Israel and others. There are many who do not consider Hezbollah a terrorist group. But you would never know it from the US media. I considered Sharon to be a terrorist. I am certain that many others consider him to be a hero. Labels are just that, labels. They do not make a reality.

Israel performs acts of terror and it's called self-defense or retaliation. If the opposite side does the same thing, it's called terrorism.

MIDDLE EAST: ISRAELIS TARGET CHRISTIAN PART OF BEIRUT
Beirut, 19 July (AKI) - Israeli warplanes targeted for the first time a Christian area of eastern Beirut on Wednesday morning. No one was reportedly injured in the attack. Two trucks were hit near the department store 'Abc' in the heart of the Ashrafiyah neighbourhood. The two vehicles were however not reportedly transporting missiles as initially thought. Residents panicked and took to the streets after the raid. "We aren't safe here anymore," Ratiba Naaman told Adnkronos International (AKI).

Death on the beach: seven Palestinians killed as Israeli shells hit family picnic
A barrage of Israeli artillery shells rained down on a busy Gaza beach yesterday, killing seven Palestinians, three of them children. The attack put further strain on the 16-month truce between Israel and the governing Hamas movement.
Witnesses described several explosions that also injured dozens of other people who lay on the beach, screaming and pleading for help. Some ran into the sea for fear of more shells hitting the sands at Beit Lahia, in the north of the Gaza strip.

Among the dead were three children, aged one, three, and 10. Their sister was swimming and survived.

-
The Israeli army said it "regretted" the deaths and called a halt to the shelling. It offered help to get the survivors to Israeli hospitals. The shells that hit Beit Lahia beach were the latest of more than 6,000 fired into the Gaza Strip by Israel over the past two months. One possibility is that they had fallen short when being fired at areas on the outskirts of Beit Lahia used by armed Palestinian groups to launch rockets into Israel.

7. The significance is that Israel is not stopping where borders
are concerned... If their are weapons in Syria going to Hezbohla they are going to stop them...

and Iran's prez has said Syria is under their protection... which really is going to challenge Iran...

just have to see ...

12. That's the price of three F16 in case they had any pilots
in Hezbollah. Israel has about 350 fighters.
