Maybe this needs to be said.
I have been quite afraid of what happens this summer. What happens when the tempratures go up so high in Iraq, what happens to people there then. Our kids there.

But I understand, from my kid (third tour) - man, the kids are a lot more concerned about what can happen when the temps start to come back down.

I am just the parent of an NCO there - and there are a lot of us now.

I was always afraid of the summer, maybe it is the fall we should be looking at.

This needs to be said.

Joe

1. I guess I don't understand your point?
not being impolite, can you please explain what you mean about the fall being worse, temperature-wise?

3. Ok, I'll try.
I thought, as tempratures rise so do intemperate people.

A rise in tempratures, one could expect, a rise in the violence (my logic)- you see??

But the guys that have done the deal do not think so - clearly.

Those Iraqis have the same sense we do, apparently.

Nobody moves at 130 degrees, apparently.

SO I guess October could be the worst - as the tempratures start to fall.

I think - well, that is when British 8th Army took Rommel - so maybe that is true.

I want to throw up after I think such things - but I think those "dumb kids" - could be right.

I hope that is clear,

Joe

2. Halliburton sells plenty of fecal-contaminated water to our troops
But you think it's going to get worse when it cools down, because the insurgents will be more mobile?

4. I do
Not because I would think so -

Because I know kids (like mine) that think so.

I trust my kid.

SO I'd sure hold on to my ass this fall.

Maybe you should too.

6. ME too!!

This is my kids third tour - I really trust him about this.

I have lived - so did the kid - in the SFV for a long, long time. 110 in the summer is normal.

There are very few people I would trust more.

Certainly about that.

Anyway, he does say so - I believe him, God help me, I really do.

It is easy to understand that rising tempratures affect actions.

They do.

And that is what he says.

8. I met a guy this morning
who has a brother going to Iraq in a week or so.

They are throwing him a going away party.

I hope he gets a welcome home party.

Best of luck to all going to any of the seemingly many war zones.

12. This is his third tour.
I got him a wireless email - maybe we know before the casualtity lists get published on Friday.

Friday is a REALLY bad day for a lot of us.

It is one of those things, how many times do you get the snot knocked out of you before you fold - I really think that is the question.

I am a pretty moderate person. But I have listened to Ms. Sheehan. If that were my kid that died there - well, I really think she is VERY controlled. She is moderate.

I would fucking go berserk.

Tim's friend died there outside Baghdad. I sure remember that - hew was supposed to be in Korea. Better not be my boy, you know??

This is a brave new world we find our selves in here.

Anyway,

Joe

13. Thanks Joe,
It is much easier to not know of a DUer that has a child serving over there, but, this war allows no comfort zones, war is Hell. Good vibes for your son coming his way. Your anger is understandable, referring to the reference you made describing Cindy Sheehan's way of demonstrating her feelings toward this worthless president.

14. This is his third fucking tour, you know what I mean??
Ms Sheehan is reacting as a parent - not a pol. It makes her very powerful.

I will tell you, for a fact, probably 400,000 others dem-rep agree with her right now.

My anger is not understandable, it is not. We were officer of the US.

My family has shed blood from Germany to Guadal Canal.

WIth the understanding, this generation would not have to do so!!!!!

This is not rational - it is a right of our kids.

Joe
