New '06 Senate polls: Md, MI, MN, and NJ
In Maryland Democrat Cardin would beat Republican Steele 47-36, if Mfume is the nominee it is a tighter 42-40, according to the Baltimore Sun.

In Michigan Sen. Stabenow is leading by a solid 50-29 percent over Republican Brouchard according to the Detroit Free Press.

In Minnesota Democrt Klobuchar has opened up a 50-31 percent lead over Republican Kennedy according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

In New Jersey it is tight with Republican Kean leading 40-38 over Sen. Menendez according to a new Quinnipiac poll. The Quinnipiac poll last month had Menendez leading by 7--why the sudden change?

2. The sudden change in NJ is caused by Corzine's state shut down...
I'm glad Kean's only 5% ahead. It could be worse.

3. Quinnipiac always leans to the right for some reason or the other.

Rassmussen, who also leans right has Menendez ahead at 45%.

5. I'd say NJ is an outlier until another new poll has similar results.
Everything I have seen has Menendeza ahead. Not always by alot though.
