I can remember a few months ago, on DU when we were talking about the Neo Cons wanting war with Iran. But, politically this would be very difficult. But some thought, what if Israel did it for them?

Well it seems like everything is going to plan.

It appears obvious now, that the Lebanese govt. won't be able to control Hezbollah. So then, whats next?

Next is when they go after the people that supplied the missiles. Iran and Syria.

Bush remains silent on the issue, and American MSM is prepping the country for war (all the ww3 talk)

I think we all know where this is going.

1. I've been thinking the same thing
First, they started spinning the same kind of crap they used to drag us into Iraq. I really think they realized that spin was getting any traction, and this Plan B.

It is, and it is no coincidence that it is all coming together about 4 months before the election.

3. I remember this analysis/prediction on how this would/could play out
on DU a while back as well...and so far, pretty much as was predicted. Very Sad.
I really want DU to be WRONG on such things. But DU predicts/analyzes/foresees..whatever...
quite well. Yikes.

5. They will drag Iran into a war
one way or the other. I think they may need a Bay of Tonkin incident to blame on Iran, then Israel will start dropping bombs, or we will start dropping bombs. After we control Iran's oil, we will go after Saudi.

While we are busy stealing oil (at the point of a gun), Israel will be redrawing the map of ME, so they have more land.

It is all going according to the PNAC plan.

6. Bush: U.S. would aid Israel if attacked
I remember the prediction that neocons might try to use Israel as an excuse to drag us into war with Iran. It's seeming more prophetic as time goes by. Junior has been silent on the issue lately, but here's what he had to say on May 23:

Talks between U.S., Israel leaders focus on borders, Iran, Hamas

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- President Bush said Tuesday that the United States would come to Israel's aid if it were attacked by Iran and welcomed the Jewish state's plan to define its borders.

He made the comments at the White House during a joint news conference with Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert after a meeting between the two leaders. It was Olmert's first official visit to the United States as prime minister.

<snip>

"The prime minister and I shared our concerns about the Iranian regime's nuclear weapons ambitions," Bush said. "The United States and the international community have made our common position clear: We're determined that the Iranian regime must not gain nuclear weapons.

"I told the prime minister what I've stated publicly before: Israel is a close friend and ally of the United States. And in the event of any attack on Israel, the United States will come to Israel's aid," Bush said.

7. Syria, I think, is first
The NeoCons want to restore the Mosul-Haifa oil pipeline -- guaranteeing supply of energy to Israel and the US. (Walk down Memory Lane with me -- Chalabi was spun as the George Washington of Iraq because he promised to the NeoCons that on Day One of his presidency, he would recognise Israel, and that on Day Two he would initiate the restoration of said pipeline.)

Carrying this out requires subjugation of Syria.

Expect to hear a lot about Syria and Iran being the cause of all present misery -- not only of the aggression against Israel, but violence against US troops in Iraq.

Will there be another incident of violence against Americans (150,000 of whom are positioned between Israel and Iran) that enables His Chimperial to expand the War on Terriers into Syria or Iran?

I am speculating that this precipitating event will occur, with 65% certainty, within 8 months of today, and that it will be the event that pulls the US into this regional war fighting alongside of Israel, our bestest friend and ally.

Of course Israel has the right to defend itself, but Israel is sure acting pretty recklessly these days, opening war on several different fronts -- seemingly to make things hot enough to provoke another attack on their best ally, Uncle Sam. Also -- Israel seems to be unmindful about the ultimate consequences of it's present strategy -- perhaps assuming Uncle Sam to join in combat as an ally. Sadly, this will just make thing worse -- great armies can accomplish great things, but force has its limits (look at "progress" in Iraq after defeat by the mightiest US army.

10. So many Democrats were helping with preparations....
laying the groundwork with the Iran Freedom Support Act. (Does Israel work for the US or the other way around.(AIPAC donations tell the story)) But Apparently that wasn't moving fast enough, maybe they gave the American people some credit and didn't think they could do the exact same thing again...so Israel grew impatient and decided to take matters into their own hands. I actually heard one of those right wing blowhards on the radio say that we are already all much safer, because now there are only two countries left with evil intentions toward us...Iran and Syria. He was already accounting for Lebanon being in the bag. WTF!
