John Dean: "Leading Democrats is like herding Cats"
I think he is exactly right though it's actually a good quality as Dean pointed out.

1. Because we're not followers, we aren't looking for leaders, we want
someone to do what they're told, not tell us what they are going to do.

3. I disagree
We do want leadership with a vision, not a dictator that tells us nothing. JFK & MLK did a great job inspiring us to follow.

4. But we followed because they led where we wanted them to.

11. Which comes first the chicken or the egg?
He inspired us to care

And so, my fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.

I look forward to a future in which our country will match its military strength with our moral restraint, its wealth with our wisdom, its power with our purpose.

If we cannot now end our differences, at least we can help make the world safe for diversity.

* would ask us to care about the profits of the corpotocracy

Namaste

15. I guess one feeds off the other.
But then you must recall that the far right thinks that is what Bush is doing. These far right Christians seem to be a shade off from what most Christians think. I never knew Christians that like killing so. Shades of the Middle Ages.

16. He has inspired them
Edited on Sun Jul-16-06 02:58 PM by serryjw
It goes to show it can be used for the good of humanity or not( Hitler). He convinced them WE will be safer when THEY are ALL DEAD. He inspired us to HATE. He convinced us, we are on the side of the angels, that is what is so insidious

I was trying to get my use's and we's understandable

2. I don't know about it being a good thing, but if true, all we need to do
is get candidates with a lot of cans of TUNA!

Silly as that may sound, it's exactly what the Pubs do with their wedge issues. They find a few issues that all of them can agree on, and hammer them constantly! That's their tuna!

It would work for the Dems too IF we could find the right broadly accepted issue(s).

10. Perhaps our new slogan should be
Vote Democrat because we have the best TUNA!

5. Because we're not a blindly obedient fealty-oathing fascist cult.
We've seen what that kind of present movement has done for our country, especially in the last 6 years.

6. I only have one thing to say.
Meow!

What is it Will Rogers once said? "I don't belong to an organized party, I'm a democrat."?

Although disorganized and chaotic, I think our strength is in multiple viewpoints.....if we can ever harness that energy and learn to compromise among each other.

18. I once heard of a border collie who herded 9 cats into a bedroom
And when they had folks over to visit the border collie would follow guests to the bathroom, then wait for them and herd them back to the main gathering.

I know more about border collies than I do about Howard Dean.

17. Yes, I am a AAR Member. See if the Politically Direct website has it.
If you have iTunes, you can get it from the Apple website. Mother Jones podcast can be directly obtained from the Mother Jones website.

Also, a place to check is White Rose Society.

13. I am not a cat, I am a liger, and I have mystical powers.
A liger is a mix between a lion and a tiger! :silly:
