I think Israel should suck it up...
like their people did before and during WWII. At that time, many countries in Europe as well as the U.S. recognized what was happening and acted to stop the holocaust quickly. American involvement saved thousands if not millions, and sentiment toward the jewish plight was high even given the long history of genocide perpetrated upon them in Europe and elsewhere.

Imagine what it was like to have those around you dedicated to eradicating all traces of your existence from the earth as some parts of Europe were in those sad times? Thankfully those days are behind us.

The situation in the middle east now is simply the case of a very very few expressing hatred toward Israel and igniting these conflicts. Certainly there are no governments in that region that would wish destruction upon the jewish homeland and obliteration of their culture from the area. Certainly this country with borders even more secure than ours in the U.S. could exercise a little more restraint and patience. Perhaps they should listen to the voices of the past. The voices that stoically waited in lines to be liquidated while awaiting the sympathetic armies of the west to save them at the behest of their outraged citizenry. Suck it up for a while Israel, we haven't forgotten.

1. I'm sure the American Indians would disagree...
I'm sure they would rather not have had to suck it up to cultivate sympathy with their plight.

The correct answer is for both sides to stop.

2. Where do I begin with this one...Oy!
First, no the Israeli people should not "suck it up". No one deserves to live with terror. Period. Second, Europe and the U.S. were either not aware of the Holocaust or were and did little to stop it.

Your third paragraph..."very very few expressing hatred twoard Israel". Not true. Israel is the touchstone for all resentment of Western colonialism- this is before you even start factoring in the anger that Israel deservedly earns through its racist laws and policies twoard Arabs inside Israel or it's criminal military excursions in the Palestinian Occupied Territories, for instance.

Ok, I gotta stop there, there's just to much to address...

4. The OP is being sarcastic...and wants to equate any criticism of Israel...
with a pro Nazi stance. A reliable schtick.

7. He Was Being Sarcastic
But at the height of the peace negotiations Clinton was trying to sell Yasir Arafat on a final disposition of Jerusalem by arguing the Jewish religion's attachment to the area Arafat told Clinton the Jews had no historical ties to Jerusalem.

That's wack.

6. You should keep in mind that many DUers have broken sarcasmometers
...

that being said, it is interesting that observing the criminality of our own (USA) government rarely generates any criticism around here, but the slightest suggestion that the Israeli government is anything less than divinely perfect will get one labelled an AntiSemitic asshole in 11.2 microseconds.

9. Hmmm...
..."Imagine what it was like to have those around you dedicated to eradicating all traces of your existence from the earth(sic)..."

I already know. I'm a progressive in one of the reddest portions of the nation. What I read in the newspaper every single day reiterates how badly I am hated around here by people who don't even know me.
