Man the reptiles in our town are dense
Thick, obtuse, just plain stupid also. This is primary season with the election in just a few weeks the locals are out going house to house seeking votes.
In our yard are yard signs for two Democratic candidates for local office, and a fading John Kerry sticker on our front door.
The house, the yard, scream Democrat and for the past two nights we've had repiggies come to out door begging our vote.
I take their flyers and cards and immediately put them into the recycle pile, better for me to put that stuff into quarantine than for it to get out into the public.

1. When I answer the door to candidates
I stop them in mid-sentence and say, "I just need to know one thing. Are you a republican or a democrat?" If they're a democrat, I tell them they have my voice. If they're republican, I tell them, "I'm sorry, but republican values are not AMERICAN values so I won't be able to stoop low enough to vote for you."

I honestly don't care if they're good people deep down. The country is so fucked that if you're aligning yourself with W's party, you need to be stopped.

2. Are the Democrats precinct walking, too?
That IS how you win.

People like to be ASKED for their vote.

Some people will vote for the first soul that asks them.

3. I like the line that I learned from someone here
The first thing to ask a candidate is "Did you vote for Bush in 2004?" If the answer is yes, I tell them they lack the critical thinking skills necessary to hold public office. If they refuse to answer, I tell them if they are unwilling to be candid they are unfit to represent voters.

5. Who put the "rat" in democrat?
With Republicans, you go off the cliff at 90 MPH. With Democrats, you go off the cliff at 25 MPH.

It's a shame that self-determination is as unlikely as a pig with wings. Don't they teach Emerson and Thoreau anymore?
