Freepers made me look for another job and I'm resigning tomorrow
I was just getting disgusted with working with some Freepers at a media relations gig I had been doing for about two years.

One particular person I had to share an office space with was a particularly typical Chimp Sheep that would spew out homophobic or racist comments on a nearly daily basis.

Add that nearly ANYTHING the Chimp would do was always accepted as "protecting America" from "the ragheads" or other epithets. If you ever need to hear someone recite Faux Snooze talking points with an annoying stutter, this was your chance for a front row seat at the Circus Of Stupidity.

A couple other Freepers would know not to directly discuss politics with me...sort of like the KKK not talking to the sypathetic Jew York Times-readin' America Hater vibe...no biggie.

Anyway, I got another much BETTER job offer and accepted it and will be resigning first thing tomorrow. I would suggest that those who have to deal with Freepers at work do the same if they are lucky enough to find a new gig and de-freep yourself.

Put that vile behavior in your rear-view mirror.

6. One of the partners is pretty cool, so I'll be a decent Progressive
They will be at my mercy due to myself wearing many hats (web, graphics, video, audio, IT...) and I don't burn bridges generally, so I'll be professional to the end. I just can't wait for the finish line...

14. It could get ugly since they have suspected the friction...
Not only is the one Freeper a particularly ignorant person politically and otherwise, she (yes, she...) is also a very difficult person to work with on a number of levels...so it might be a chance for the main partners to bring it on to her (as the Chimp might say...)

I'll just watch the arrows fly and stay out of the way.

18. I remember one Canadien coworker commenting "why are all the RWers...."
in the office so stupid?"

I just snickered and said "you noticed that huh?" and laughed out loud.

We would just give each other the eyes when one of the RW retards was either spouting falsehoods, complaining or otherwise showing their ignorance. One thing we noticed - RWers are very good at being ignorant.

28. just remember, there's no law against political discrimination
the particular company might have a company policy against discussing politics. but in general, it's not illegal to discuss it at work, nor is it illegal for an employer to discriminate in hiring/firing based on politics. the situation might be different if the company gets federal contracts, but if it doesn't, it's in the clear.

a hostile work environment based on race, creed, religion or national origin ("raghead") is another matter entirely

is a crime.

This may mean nothing to the FReeper creeper, but his boss might understand the implications of a nasty lawsuit and the PR(!) fallout said lawsuit might have.

Just as an example, I went to rental supply place the other weekend and noticed that a couple of employees had rebel battle flags on their trucks.

I didn't even slow down, I just drove right on out of there.

They can "whistle Dixie" as much as they want, they're not getting my green.

9. Congratulations - it will be good for your health
to get away from that kind of stress. And be sure to tell them about the illegal harassment you received in their employ and be sure to not mention you won't be suing them over it. Mention it and look very sad - for them, not for you - if you can manage it without laughing. A bit passive aggressive but fun nonetheless.

13. I agree...it's bad enough bringing home stupid Freep stories to my S.O.
What a waste of time having to bring home stories of the latest idiocy...it also adds stress to the job that is entirely unneeded.

Good point!

to your new job ...

THROW YOURSELF LIKE A SEED

Shake off this sadness, and recover your spirit;
sluggish you will never see the wheel of fate
that brushes by your heel as it turns going by,
the man who wants to live is the man in whom life is abundant.

Now you are only giving food to that final pain
which is slowly winding you in the nets of death,
but to live is to work, and the only thing which lasts
is the work; start then, turn to the work.

Throw yourself like seed as you walk, and into your own field,
don't turn your face for that would be to turn it to death,
and do not let the past weigh you down in your motion.

Leave what's alive in the furrow, what's dead in yourself,
for life does not move in the same way as a group of clouds;
from your work you will be able to one day gather yourself.

Miguel de Unamuno

peace and prosperity,
dp

20. thats a "hostile work environment"
and may even be illegal.

However, if your boss is a freeper, then it might be considered
ok to "freep" at work.

Sorry you had to deal with that.

You could stay at your job and decorate your workspace with some
weird shit though - chicken bones, weird voo doo stuff,
freek em out!

Well, good luck at new job. Congrats.

21. You will be mentioning why, yes?

I applaud your effort to distance yourself from this garbage.

To make it matter beyond your leaving, do please make sure to mention the things you have mentioned here in your resignation letter. Those in positions who can't easily leave need "on the record" complaints made about this sort of behavior.

which not one, but two, idiots listened to Rush and Hannity all day long. It was torture. The only way to avoid it was to bring a walkman and listen to the only station I could get that wasn't spewing rw crap. It was an oldies station, and it sucked, but it kept me sane. One of the morons actually had a photo of the chimp and Pickles in his cubicle. The other one was so stupid that on a particularly cold winter day he came out with, "Well, I guess this disproves global warming." Couple of real dumbfucks. Did a huge happy dance when I got the hell out, so I sympathize totally. Congrats on your new job - may it be freeperless.

39. Ah, this brings back memories
At my last job, a fundie Right Wing whackjob (also female) practically held an entire department hostage. She had the middle-managers convinced that she, and only she, could do her job, and she did her best to undermine anyone who was assigned to work with her. We lost three of our best employees after they were transferred to her department -- they simply couldn't take her vindictive, mean-spririted attitude, mixed with a Holier-Than-Thou, Praise-the-Lord religious fervor.

The true irony is that after years of placating this woman, meeting any and every demand she made, she quit without any notice and walked away from the job. The department didn't skip a beat -- without her around to "defend" her turf, we easily closed the gap and gained, rather than lost, efficiency.
