Law is now a matter of public opinion (NSA Leak Polls)
Who else is shocked by the MSM attempt to try this crime in the court of public opinion? What's next? Child abuse: for or against?

1. We can't let this fly. Truth be told, the majority of Americans don't
believe this, they can't. We'd be so screwed if they did.

The big mouths covering for the bush** administration are making the loudest noise, so it's their opinion that's getting the most airplay.

It serves a new master now.

4. Welcome to the DU yknot...
:hi:

The court of public opinion will have a great deal to say about how all this goes down; but the results of Congressional investigation will be the ultimate judgment of the degree to which Bush/Cheney trashed our Constitution.

8. There Is Another Way To Look At It
The on-line polls have no effect on law. I think people are smart enough to know that. What they may have an effect on is public opnion though. Sometimes the shock of seeing that much of the country disagrees with your view gets you into the mood of asking why. In this case I think the very high (usually greater than 80%) responses indicating that a crime was indeed committed acts to educate a lot of the 20% that in fact something they may not have realized was important has happened. When that many people disagree with you then you gotta ask.

I did right after 9/11, when I thought Bush should have been tried for leaving the scene (remember, he disapeared between 9am and 9pm on 9/11) when the rest of the world seemed to think he was some sort of hero. I reexamined my view and came to the conclusion that he was indeed a trator. But at least I looked.
