Does anyone have a suggestion for a good live progressive chat room ?
I used to belong to an interesting dem chat room which no longer exists and would like to join another, but there are so many and some seem to be more difficult to get into than a republican whore house! Suggestions appreciated!

4. The pubs are easy...you flash a viagra, a vicodin and a pic of Coulter
or Gannon (they are interchangeable). But it takes the Da Vinci code to get into the dem rooms, and more often than not, they only lead to Ben Affleck's underwear drawer.

6. Good question. I scouted around the periphery when I first joined
Edited on Thu Jun-29-06 09:29 PM by tinfoilinfor2005
but didn't see anything of that nature.

Being as how we are dems, though, it might cause some problems. First of all we would have to get past the argument of whether the term "live chat" didn't violate the rights of those who are no longer living, and if so, are they getting proper representation?

but of course I kid the non living...

Seriously, though, wouldn't this be a good place for a chat room?

7. it would be a good place to have a chat room
but maybe the administrators of this site, have their reasons why they don't have one.

8. Ok, I'm up for a challenge...
I'll put on my red shoes and gather Toto and ask the great powerful Skinner if this is something that might be considered in the future. (lions and tigers and bears, oh my, lions and tigers and tigers and bears, oh my...)

psst...anyone know where to go to ask?

well, maybe "threw up" wouldn't be the best way to put it, but let's just say I cautiously approached the subject. :)

13. Chat Rooms Don't Handle Traffic Well
Chat rooms can only handle ten or twenty chatters at any given time. Beyond that, it's impossible to follow any conversation. I suppose one could have various chatrooms on various topics.

12. It shouldn't be too hard
I know for a very long time we did it on a couple of other sites, for different groups. It's a pretty simple JAVA applet, but if you want bells and whistles, it can get more complex.

Your Browser will ask you if it can run a file. SAY YES to run our chat program. If the chat doesn't work with your browser (you're browser must be able to use JAVA), you can access IRC chat by downloading a chat program such as mIRC. Once you do that, click here to access the chat:

25. Thanks for trying to help
but I think I'm going to either have to give up or bash in my monitor LOL.

That link gives me a box that reads, "Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (irc) isn't associated with any program."

I'm such a dummy when it comes to computers. I'm lucky I can use a message board! heh heh

26. oh don't feel dumb! It would say that if you didn't have an IRC program
to open it and unless you are familiar with IRC, you wouldn't have that kind of program! IRC is Internet Relay Chat, by the way. Sorry it isn't working for you!

We've considered it many times, and will likely keep considering it.At
this point, we feel that we want discussions to appear on the
discussion forum. But we might change our minds
