Sen G Smith & Net Neutrality - my phone call and his aide
ijust spent about ten minutes on the phone with his aide in the eugene office discussing the merits of the snowe/dorgan bill, which smith voted against, vs the stevens bill which he supports. she kept trying to tell me that the senator had spent a lot of time researching the issue(i'm sure he did as onward oregon and move-on flooded his offices with phone calls the last couple of days) and smith decided that there was a lot of *confusion* about the snowe/dorgan bill and he felt there were more consumer protections offered in the steven's bill. when i assured her that this wass indeed, emphatically *NOT* the case, and and that smith was selling out to the corporations, she then launched into a defense about how this absolutely was not about choosing the xcorporate ove the little guy, it was about keeping government out something that was working so well because government hadn't been involved.i tried to explain to her that it was a quintessential example of the corporatevs the little guy and that smith had just sold out the little, which was his typical MO. then got all pissy and gave the usual song and dance about being able to support whoever i chose to and that's the great thing about this country.:banghead:
