Court to hear arguments in taped call case(Jim McDermott)
A federal appeals court has agreed to hear new arguments in a case involving an illegally taped telephone call leaked to reporters by Rep. Jim McDermott , D-Wash.

(snip)
A three-judge panel of the appeals court ruled in March that McDermott violated federal law by turning over the tape recording of a 1996 call involving then-House Speaker Newt Gingrich, R-Ga.

The 2-1 opinion upheld a lower court ruling that McDermott violated the rights of Rep. John Boehner, R-Ohio, who was heard on the 1996 call. Boehner was then a Gingrich lieutenant and is now House majority leader.

"We look forward to presenting a vigorous defense of the First Amendment issues at stake in this case, and we believe there is precedent all the way to the U.S. Supreme Courtto support our position," McDermott said.

1. If the matter did not involve the leading liberal in Congress...
The matter would have been dropped years ago. Had this involved one of the leading GOP conservatives taping a call by a Democrat, however, it never would have gone to court in the first place.

2. Something like hacking into the democrats server and stealing their files?
Something like that? I am sure in about thirty minutes I could compile a long and tawdry list of items proving IOKIYAR,but we all know that is a fact! It is no longer a duopoly where it is different justice for the wealthy, but now there is a different standard for the Parties as well.
