The question people should ask El Drugbo - WHY WAS HE OUT OF THE COUNTRY?
Edited on Tue Jun-27-06 01:22 AM by HawkeyeX
Under state and federal laws, El Drugbo is NOT supposed to leave the country under probation without his travel permit or his PO's OK. I'm pretty sure, knowing Dominician Republic's sordid history and the sex tourism attraction, that his PO DID not OK the trip.

As a result, not only he was in violation of his probation for the illegal scrip, but also leaving the country.

Here's the relevant law (I think) http://snipurl.com/scmm

1. he still thinks his money, ie private jet and fancy lawyering, put
him above the law. He wont "get it" until he's behind bars. I think that time has come.

26. Yep.
That's the reality here. We have a criminal cabal running the country who is above the law. Any law; all laws. Mr. Limbaugh works for them. He will not do one minute of time. In fact, he will continue to operate as he has and get away with it.

3. Unfortunately, I think he is in the clear..
Limbaugh entered a plea deal back in April in a previous case where his charge of fraud to conceal information to obtain prescriptions was dropped under the condition he continue undergoing treatment for addiction.

5. That doesn't matter
The plea deal said he couldn't break any laws for 18 months.

well, 5 months (?) later, he is caught in possession of a prescription drug made out to someone else. That's a misdemeanor, at least. :)

11. It's a misdemeanor to possess drug prescribed for another person
that's enough to break probation.

He was released, but a report of the incident will be forwarded to the state. Depending on their backlog of cases, we should see something happening within 2-6 weeks. :) Unless his high priced lawyer gets him off... again. :(

29. Unfortunately the prescription was made out to his doctor...
Common practice in Viagra prescriptions for privacy reasons. Odds are he won't be violated for it.

31. second degree misdemeanor
the authorities are planning on filing a report with the state attorney's office, and he could be charged with a second-degree misdemeanor violation.

It's still illegal.

13. bad wording of the CBS reporter..... Charges NOT dropped...
Rush got "948.08 Pretrial intervention program.--"

From the law

3) The criminal charges against an offender admitted to the program shall be continued without final disposition for a period of 90 days after the date the offender was released to the program, if the offender's participation in the program is satisfactory, and for an additional 90 days upon the request of the program administrator and consent of the state attorney, if the offender's participation in the program is satisfactory.

(4) Resumption of pending criminal proceedings shall be undertaken at any time if the program administrator or state attorney finds that the offender is not fulfilling his or her obligations under this plan or if the public interest so requires. The court may not appoint the public defender to represent an indigent offender released to the pretrial intervention program unless the offender's release is revoked and the offender is subject to imprisonment if convicted.

9. He wasn't on probation
he was on a deferred charge. As long has he completed the requirements, and wasn't arrested during the next 18 mos, he was clear (the more serious charge would be completely dropped).

At least in my area, this type of deferral is common with 1st time non-violent offenders.

10. Who sez he's on probation? He copped...
a plea and made a deal. I doubt his lawyer would have left travel on the table.

And, while hilarious, it is disappointing that he got busted for Viagra. I gots me some problems with anyone getting busted for that sort of thing.

Besides goodies for the head, where you takes your chances, how many of us have ever had a bottle of pills for anything from asthma to joint pain, not too mention certain things that may be a bit embarassing, that we could have been busted for just because the label was not exactly right?

As much as I love to see the Limbauciles squirm over their hero's public humiliation, I just don't think this is right.

15. The problem with Limpballs prescriptions
was that his MD supposedly wrote them in his own name, in order to protect Rush's privacy. With the Hippa law, privacy shouldn't be an issue. Also, the MD is guilty of a crime for writing a falsified prescription. The problem for Rush is that he originally got in trouble for doctor shopping. Seems he may have found at least one MD who was willing to help cover up his habits. How many other MD's did Rush get to doctor prescriptions for him. This would indicate that he is still trying to cover up the amount of meds he uses. If that is the case then he is in violation of the terms of his agreement with the state and the agreement should be revoked.

BTW: If this happened to one of us, we'd still be in a cell at the airport or local jail trying to sort it all out.

18. That last sentence is...
the part that bothers me. I'd like to think that he got held up over this because of his plea deal, but I suspect he got off easy because of who he is.

Me? I'd still be rotting in a detention center. And that's what I think is wrong.

20. Empathetic my ass! I want...
to hear the next 50 callers ask him about how he got it up for the 12-year old boys down there.

I wanna hear just why he this bastion of morality needs Viagra on a trip to the islands and see Bonergate plastered all over the media. And more stories about his buddies' sexcapades in third world countries.

I'm just having the teensiest problem with how it's happening is all. It's not all about that asshole.

22. Exactly! I thought the same thing...he was probably out of the
country to seek sex with underage participants, probably both genders.

Also, did the authorities check the pills to see if they ALL were really Viagra or was there a little "feel good" stuff mixed in?

Who was the Doctor? His name should be publicized as one who sells out his professionalism.

It's obvious Rush is permanantly disabled by fried brain syndrome and has moved beyond pathetic. Have pity will ya? Follow the Joe Biden/Cheney model, when a wingnut becomes that pathetic they become too irrelevant to bother with.

25. He gets no slack IMO, he ruins the lives of hundreds of

people by bashing them in public EVERY day!

He made Clinton's life hell and the rest of us.

He kept on and on about Cynthia McKinny not "following the law" and the way she wears her hair.

Wake up Democrats!

Stop being afraid of these scumbags ~ let um have it, stick It To Them!

STICKIE: Rush is a pill popper and can't get it up!

Rush is in DR with Little Boys!

They never do a fact check on US.

it's a fair question, after all, he didn't break american laws until he returned (though he surely did break his deal).
