A REPUBLICAN was the most passionate voice at today's war hearings

http://www.thenation.com/blogs/capitalgames?bid=3&pid=96350

"So after all this, Representative Jones, who had voted to grant Bush the authority to invade Iraq, had a question. He noted that "my heart has ached ever since I found out that the intelligence...was flawed and possibly manipulated." He said that he had written letters to relatives of every American soldier who has died in Iraq--8000 letters so far. "What perplexes me," he said, "is how in the world could professionals see what was happening and nobody speak out?"

It was an important question. Within the intelligence community, there were professionals who knew that critical parts of the Bush administration's case for war--which relied primarily on the argument that Saddam posed a direct WMD threat to the United States--had serious holes. Those who dissented internally did not go public--they worked within the system. But the system did not work. The White House made certain not to pay attention to any of the dissents, and it did not share the disputes with the voters. Why had the entire intelligence community allowed Bush and his aides to get away with this? "

That's a REPUBLICAN.

The Dems have obviously grown some sort of balls to even have this hearing (after so many have died, of course). But it's still up to even the Republicans to speak the right truths.

8. So does mine.
Maybe we should print out the articles where he denounces and apologizes for what he said and leave it, conveniently, at the cashier's stand?

2. Walter Jones is my district's Representative
and though I disagree with him on many, many issues, I'm glad he is being more vocal about his feelings about the war. This isn't the first time he has spoken out. I think actually attending so many funerals has really had an impact on him. And for what it's worth, Jones was actually a Democrat before he was a Republican. Maybe that accounts for him apparently having at least a kernel of decency in his soul.

3. My congressman (Tom Price) has no decency in him
He actually took to the floor recently to congratulate some athletes in my districts' high school getting to the top baseball thingy or whatever.

I was thinking, "No wonder I feel like telling him to shut up everytime i meet him"
