Put the administration aside and just think about Congress.

Do you have any faith at all that this Congress can solve any major problem or issue out there? Medicaid. Social Security. Homeland Security. Anything you can think of.

Do you believe that they can collectively come together and make sure that another disaster like Katrina doesn't happen again? Another 9-11?

Because I don't. I thought about it. Tried to be fair and think of something. But I cannot think of on issue that I would trust Congress on. Nothing.

4. No, they've ceded their power to POTUS and debate wedge issues

while the executive branch runs amok and shreds the Constitution. It's a nice scam they're running. Living on the generous public dole, taking $$ from lobbyists, passing legislation written by corporations and preaching xtian morality and values for the viewers at home.

5. No, it's a do nothing body controlled by venal men
who are too busy fundraising for the next campaign to do much about the many crises facing the people of this country. The legislation they vote on without having read is prepared by staffers or by donor corporations. They really are harming this country.

If it were in my power, I'd sweep out any of them who doesn't make a binding promise to enact public funding of campaigns as the first order of business of the next Congress. Freed from the treadmill of begging for money, they might actually get a chance to do the job they were sent to do.

It would also get the dirty money out of government, and any money transferred from a corporation to a party or candidate could be called what it has so clearly become: BRIBERY.

9. Not at all
Between the corruption that has been uncovered, the fact that they no longer have the ability to oversee this administration, and the lop-sided power hold the Repubs have over all of us, we don't have a prayer.

I am saying this now.. With all the record searching Bush and co are doing, what's to say they are not checking up on Democrats? Finding discrepancies in bank accounts or in phone calls... I would not put it past this administration to of made dossiers on all of them....

12. I have faith in the institution, without a doubt. Not the current
majority membership, though. I want to see a Democratic majority returned to both Houses. On a Federal level, we start there. '06, then '08.
