Clearing brush in Crawford vs. Clearing debris in New Orleans
I know Jimmy Carter would've been down there from day one clearing debris. I know Clinton would've too, hell, just as a show of human decency, but did bush ever EVER clear any debris in New Orleans? Fuck no. It just proves again that he's a racist pig.

When he had a little free time he used for HIMSELF, surprise surprise.

2. Racist? Partly. Classist? Elitist? Definately.
Be careful about calling Bush a racist. He has 2 or 3 black friends that he can use as shields, to say, "Hey, I'm not racist, what about Condi?".

But Bush and the GOP practice the new racism. A form of racism that has evolved with the times. Instead of "I hate all black people" or what have you, now the new racism is something along the lines of, "A lot of black people (insert whatever stereotype), but not all of them. I know a couple personally, and they are ok. So I'm not racist!"

To me, Bush's treatment of Katrina victims reveals more than anything what an elitist jerk he is, and how much he truly loathes the poor and the working class.

3. He Got In The Way...
of progress, which was inexcusable. When the police, military, airports, state/local officials, etc., were needed so desperately, he was using them to make up for not being on top of the disaster. Setting up elaborate props, clearing the way for his motorcades, utilizing the naval ship(s) for his personal needs, on and on ad nauseum, took up time and dollars better spent on NO and the other disaster areas. I truly believe he didn't understand the magnitude of the damage until he flew over in Air Force I, and realized he was in deep doodoo. (Am I correct in that he reportedly refused to look at video of the damage before he flew back to the WH?)
