Oh no, Russ is too conservative for me.
Watched him on MTP. He didn't go far enough. Censure not impeachment on wire tap - I can live with. But not a single mention of censure/impeachment on the phony, illegal war. Not a mention that many dems voted to give Bush the power to use good judgement, to seek peaceful means - much different than voting FOR a war.

Flame if you want, but I was dissappointed. He had center stage and he moderated his voice. I wish Ted Kennedy would run. To me, he's a senator who always, always speaks from his heart and convictions and doesn't give a shit about politics.

1. I love Kennedy too.
I really love him....He's the best!
Unfortunately, he'd never get elected.

4. why not. If Hillary could run with half the country saying they
would NEVER vote for her - he's in same category - only he never wavers. Two others I absolutely love and wish would run - Mario Cuomo, the most eloquent democratic spokesman ever and Gary Hart - simply brilliant...

13. I second that Gary Hart nomination.
The country IMO may have been in an even better place than under Clinton if Gary had been able to keep his pecker in his pants. If anything thought that scandal was somewhat liberating for him because in the interviews I've seen since I see a man who isn't afraid to call a spade a spade.

16. Because they would bring up chappikwtic(sic)
and that is reality, and that is ONE of the reasons why he wouldn't win

6. Is he older than Reagan?? Yes, you are right Russ can hold
his own with Tim. I am talking purely about what he said. Sorry, I tested out left of Gandi.

12. Reagan was 69 when he was elected. Ted is 74 now.
I don't want to lose my Senator to a race for the WH. I'd prefer him to stay as a grand lion in the Senate...

5. Really? I didn't know that - guess I haven't done my homework
Kennedy doesn't agree with impeachment? The thing that probably stops many on impeachment is that Cheney is worse....

is dedicated to doing his best for this country. I cannot say that about any Republican. Can you?

7. No Democrat should be talking about impeachment.
Not until we take back the House in November.

14. I agree. And when they do talk, they should talk about INVESTIGATIONS,
and HEARINGS. You don't shoot first and ask questions later, that's the GOP way.

You investigate, you gather evidence, and if the facts supports further action, THEN, and only then, do you take it.

8. Just Goes To Show That Some Are Just Never Satisfied.
Russ did a great job on MTP and I'd say the overwhelming majority of DU'ers would agree with that. But I'm aware there will always be a select few who will feel that no performance is ever good enough.

Rock on Russ, ya did us proud today.

11. You're kidding right?
He's one of the very few Senators to call for serious investigations and its not enough for you because you want investigations for different reasons? Don't you think investigations of one thing will lead to investigations of another?

I'm trying to figure out if your post is some kind of sarcastic criticism of the purists who won't support anyone who doesn't agree with them 100% of the time. FYI, no one agrees with anyone else 100% of the time.

18. I agree - you shouldn't agree 100%. In human nature, it is unnatural
for a group, say the size of the repukes in the senate. That is why I know somethings wrong - some coercion. Otherwise you would have at least a handful objecting.

No, I don't need someone to agree 100% with me. BUT, the most important thing to me is to see justice prevail with AssHat. He lied and tricked us into the war. This, to me, is a crime of mammoth proportions. He deserves punishment. People seem to have forgotten.

15. As good as the Conyers, Boxers, and Feingolds are....
They still lack the sense of urgency to get rid of Bush/Cheney. Why can't several dozen progressive Congressmen take a USA tour (ala Al Gore) to sound the alarm about this horrendous presidency and why didn't it happen three years ago.

17. Step 1 get majorities, Step 2 investigations, Step 3 impeachment
it isn't going to happen in any other order.
