Edited on Sun Jun-25-06 12:02 PM by patdem
America! It always comes up because I erase cookies regularly. "Take a few moments to tell us a little about yourself"

Zip code: 20007 DOB: Sept 8, 1953 E-mail Addy: deleted because of a reasonable request (.ch)

THIS IS NOT ME! I found out Zip Code 20007 is Washington DC? Am I being spied upon? What is .ch in an email addess? China?

2. Hey - here's an idea
It included the link to their email - send them a note and ask them who they are. Ya never know - they may answer! Hmmmm....

"Thanks for writing. I am a secret operative in China and the U.S. pays me to steal information from people who patronize pacifist terror-loving organizations.
Do you belong to myspace.com? My screen name there is 'OffshoreSpy' - maybe we can hook up later?"

Hee, hee!

3. What was it exactly? Like a pop up on Air America's site?
And it had someone else's info in it already?

8. One would think. OP might consider an email to the webmaster
We wouldn't want other site visitors to have their info come up on people's computers.

13. I just checked out the scripts that are running on that "online radio"
page...

The first one is "airamericaradio.com", the second is "advertising.com" and the third is "doubleclick.net".

Here's the first url: http://www.advertising.com/home.php

The second one is http://www.doubleclick.com/us/

It's advertising data that Air America is most likely selling about their users to these companies. I'd like to know what doublclick and advertising.com are going to do with our IP/zipcode/email addresses information. Not to mention, the cookies will probably allow them to see where we are browsing.

Kind of sucks that of all people doing this in a sneaky fashion that it's Air America Radio. Figures.

14. Yeah, at least remove the part before the "@" symbol...
If you leave it on the post, webbots will gobble up that email link at spammers will start bombing that poor person's email address.
