"The Kingpin (Kos) waxed Cheneyesque on the evils of leaking, and this time the squeaking fury of the Kossacks could be heard (to those capable of discerning high frequencies) far and wide," writes Brooks.

1. In which Mr. Brooks ascribes godlike powers to Kos
And reveals his own jealousy of these imagined powers. But a man who makes a living peddling the view looking out from his own ass is living in a glass house with charges such as these. We're sorry you were born with a small penis, Mr. Brooks, but it's really not our problem.

3. Thank you. The rest of the David Brooks column
is bad enough, but the NY Times shouldn't print an essay comparing liberal Democrats to rats.

14. I'm surprised she's not dead.
My God, I've seen starving Ethiopians with more meat on their bones.

We probably shouldn't worry too much about what this ingrate has to say. From the looks of her "physique," and I use that term loosely, she isn't going to be able to stand or speak without a host of feeding tubes and breathing apparati running into her veins and lungs too much longer.

10. Even if I was familiar with David Brooks I still wouldn't give a rat's
...what he says. It just proves to me once again that conservatives have nothing in their repetoire for dealing with those they disagree with besides ad hominem attacks, name-calling and threats. They all operate on the same emotional level as schoolyard bullies, from Bush** on down.

Which goes a long way to explaining the deplorable state of this country under Republican rule.

ordering all of us to never read nor mention Brooks name ever again. That directive I will gladly obey.

16. Well, I went to the link with fire in my belly, but, upon reading
some of the allegations against Kos's defending of someone who might be involved in some SEC violations, I'm not so sure that there isn't a rat about:

Brooks' column was written in response to New Republic online articles that relied on private comments from left-leaning bloggers discussing the controversy which has enveloped around Zuniga's one-time consulting partner, Jerome Armstrong (and co-author on Crashing The Gates). Last weekend, articles on a New York Times blog and in The New York Post revealed that the blogger at Mydd.com who also works with potential 2008 presidential candidate Virginia Governor Mark Warner, got into trouble with the Security Exchange Commission for allegedly touting stocks on the Internet.

"Why the strange silence in the face of such damning allegations? Well, I think we now know the answer," wrote Jason Zengerle for TNR's The Plank. "It's a deliberate strategy orchestrated by Kos."

"My request to you guys is that you ignore this for now. It would make my life easier if we can confine the story," Kos wrote to fellow bloggers on a private list called 'Townhouse,' according to Zengerle.

I have a membership at Kos, but find the board incredibly convoluted and difficult to maneuver, so I don't visit there often.

I also can't understand why Kos, who alleges he's such a progressive, is so highly-touting the DLC-backed, corporate shilled Mark Warner. Don't get me wrong, I think Warner has a better shot of winning a national election than most: including Gore and Feingold, two of my three favorites, because of his Southern positioning, but I don't necessarily think a Warner presidency would be good for the working people of this country.

This is, of course, not meant as a bash against Democrats, in general, or Kos, specifically. I want to defend Democrats against the likes of David Brooks, but, in this case, I think I'll refrain from writing the Times and wait for a more virginal battle that doesn't carry with it the undertones of something illegal.

I would just prefer to defend Democrats when there is not a shade of impropriety within the story he's discussing.

What a total douchebag. He is the Times "right" version of Fox's Alan Colmes.
