Playing To the White Fears of Black Men. Works Every Goddamn Time.
When all else fails, trot out the same boogeyman. They will keep winning the elections.

Fear trumps everything. Even the people that disagree with Bush will vote for him.

Fear.

What is the message from all of this. Who is the real enemy? Al Qaeda?
Arabs? Muslims?

Nope. It's black americans. They have to keep reminding us of that.

1. Tried to recruit Willie Horton, but failed.
From the internets:

Republican candidate George H.W. Bush seized on the Horton case, bringing it up repeatedly in campaign speeches. Bush's campaign manager, Lee Atwater, bragged that "by the time this election is over, Willie Horton will be a household name." Horton had never gone by the name Willie, but rather William. Media consultant Roger Ailes was reported to remark "the only question is whether we depict Willie Horton with a knife in his hand or without it."

Bush, Atwater, Ailes meet Bush, Rove, Fauxnews.

2. Actually, you're on the top of their list, but they circulate their hatred
among certain groups. Think about it. Communist, Chinese, Socialist, Russians, Jews, American Indians, Blacks, Hispanics, Mexicans, illegal aliens, Irish at one time, Catholics at least five decades ago...

But, yes, black Americans have received the worst of it. That's why I was really surprised to hear that the latest GOP attempt to win over black voters was to bring them into their flock, at least on election day, by appealing to black congregations over the Gay issue. I thought for sure that black Americans wouldn't fall for this because it's been done to them for so long.

4. Lynn Samuels, of Talk Left, said the same thing yesterday. She
felt the "bust" was an orchestrated event to divert attention to the disclosure that all our banking records are being looked at...
