Parents of the YEAR!!!
Remember the 16 year old Michigan girl who ran away to Palestine to meet her Myspace boyfriend? Well, luckily the government sent her back home before she could meet her 20 year old romeo in one of the most hostile and dangerous (for Americans anyway) regions on earth.

So anyway, the whole happy family decides to get together and go to New York to interview with Good Morning America.

Her parents are now allowing her to continue contact with the man over the internet, and she claims right in front of her parents that she plans on marrying him in the future, with no objection from her guardians.

You HAVE to watch the video. I laughed out loud about a dozen times. The stupidity of some people just astounds me. This guy convinces a 16 year old girl not only to run away from home, but to leave the country, and her parents are still allowing her to stay in touch with him???? The apocalypse is upon us. We're all doomed!!!

4. She's 16.
Better she should be in touch with him from her computer in her living room. Remembering what it was like to be a 16 year old girl...that's how I ended up married at that age and with a baby a year later. (In that order, too) Because my family did their best to keep me away from him and I didn't have anything as safe as email to keep in contact.

The parents say ok for now, the girl isn't likely to go running off again and she feels like the adults in her life are supporting her. And by the time she's 18 and can do what she wants, she probably won't be wanting to move to Jordan any more...or move him here...and it's even more likely that by that time HE will bow to family pressure and be married there.

The parents made a really wise choice.

You are out of your friggin mind. " The parents made a really wise choice."

A 20 year old man basically tried to kidnap a 16 year old girl and you think It's okay for them to remain in contact??

7. He didn't try to kidnap her
she went on her own. And yes, I do think it's ok simply because they are on opposite sides of the world. She feels supported by her family in something she feels strongly about and isn't likely to be going and doing something even more stupid just to show them that she 'knows what she's doing'.

Forbid it and the next time you won't catch up to her so easily. If at all.
