I have a question regarding Congress and her critters

Do the speeches on the floor ever sway other Senators or Representatives, or do they make up their mind based on other factors?

I have been listening to Feingold, Kerry, Boxer, and now Byrd is speaking. They have all given powerful speeches filled with facts--many of those facts are heartbreaking, many of those facts should make the 'stay the course' bots hang their head in shame. I can't imagine hearing the facts and continuing to live in denial land that is costing people their lives, limbs, and minds. What kind of monster do you have to be to have the truth placed squarely in your face and continue to support this horrible war?

any information may sway someone. I have hopes my representative Cantwell might someday be swayed for instance. And yes, this is insanity.
