1. I'm confused...
I thought the terrorists wanted John Kerry to win? At least, that's what Rush and Shannity told me?

Cheney: Kerry Victory Is Risky
Democrats Decry Talk as Scare Tactic

By Dana Milbank and Spencer S. Hsu
Washington Post Staff Writers
Wednesday, September 8, 2004; Page A01

COLUMBIA, Mo., Sept. 7 -- Vice President Cheney warned on Tuesday that if John F. Kerry is elected, "the danger is that we'll get hit again" by terrorists, as the Bush campaign escalated a furious assault on the Democratic presidential nominee that has kept Kerry from gaining control of the election debate.

In Des Moines, Cheney went beyond previous restraints to suggest that the country would be more vulnerable to attack under Kerry. "It's absolutely essential that eight weeks from today, on November 2nd, we make the right choice, because if we make the wrong choice then the danger is that we'll get hit again," the vice president said, "that we'll be hit in a way that will be devastating from the standpoint of the United States, and that we'll fall back into the pre-9/11 mind-set, if you will, that in fact these terrorist attacks are just criminal acts and that we are not really at war."

3. Of course he did. There was one 'terrorist' organization that made the
statement prior to the election that if Kerry won, they were all in trouble.

4. Thanks so much!
I just ordered the book and was wondering if he's been on any of the programs yet.

The book is #1 on the Amazon list. (They update hourly and I checked it a few minutes ago.)

5. This book is earthshattering
It absolutely flies in the face of the media and other Chimp supporters. It's shocking, even to those of us here at DU who always knew what an incompetent, face-saving, dangerous jerky Chimp is.

Of course, Suskind will soon be painted as a Bush-bashing, anti-war liberal who hates freedom and lights his grill with burning American flags.

Until that happens, pay close attention. I don't see how Suskind's book can be ignored, simply because it's newsbreaking. Editors know that... what will they do about it?

6. Know what has been bothering me alot lately?
Before the election I saw a political cartoon that came out
of IRAN that had a beat-up Kerry tied up to a post. It
really disturbed me at the time, but I wish I woulld have copied it, and saved it.

Iran wanted * to win as well.
Why?

9. There was a meeting of minds on it too - article at that time:
http://www.nydailynews.com/front/story/247753p-212149c....
See tape as boost for Prez
We want people to think 'terrorism' for the last four days," said a Bush-Cheney campaign official. "And anything that raises the issue in people's minds is good for us."
A senior GOP strategist added, "anything that makes people nervous about their personal safety helps Bush."
He called it "a little gift," saying it helps the President but doesn't guarantee his reelection.

12. Now that's a bright boy!! Give him a cigar!! What took him so
long to figure that out? That falls in the "no poop, Sherlock" category. Why does it take these people so long to arrive at the obvious? DU is light years ahead of the curve. We knew this during the election, lots of us before the election even.

My dearly departed and sainted mother used to say, "Stupid is as stupid does."

18. He probably "figured it out"
as quickly as anyone. We "knew" in our gut. He probably assumed it right away too.

But his book is not just what he assumes is true. He says the CIA determined the tape being released then helped Bush and that Osama wanted him re-elected.

The CIA doesn't talk to me, there's a difference between saying what we're sure is true and reporting what the CIA says.

Actually I wasn't sure Osama released it then. I thought they might have had it earlier and released it then themselves.

But if Osama is/was alive of course he'd prefer bush. Bush turns the world against us and weakens the country from within in every way.

Otherwise he wouldn't be able to carry out his wish to bankrupt the U.S., which Bushco is putting ahead of schedule.

14. Watch the media torch Suskind for this "slander"
even as, during 2004, they repeated GOP assertions that Osama wants Kerry as though it were literal fact.

16. New Bumper Sticker: Got Bin Laden? (Yet or Ever!)
Bush-boy would never hold his former business partners accountable. He only went after SH because SH made Junior's daddy look bad. Correction: he sent others to get SH. Sissy-boy wasn't man enough to play a little one-on-one after SH challenged him.
