Bush Presidency And Republican Control Will Die From A Thousand Tiny Cuts.
Those of us on the left have repeatedly been disappointed that this event or that did not rock the administration at its core and send it tumbling down like many an organized crime organization before them. Given the magnitude of the kind of abuses committed under this administration (torture, rendition of prisoners to "Black Sites", outting CIA operatives to support your war lies, domestic spying, etc.), that any of these may have been enough to expose these guys in one ugly spasm.

However, two things insulate the "President" and his henchmen. First, total control of all three branches of the federal government. There are no checks and balances when the Congress and Judiciary are complicit in the crimes or at least totally unwilling to stop them. Second, an amazing ability of the American public to blandly chock each of these revelations up on the collective tally without more than about a week's outcry. Scandal fatigue has us by the short hairs.

The good news is that as poll data show very clearly indicate, the tally on those lists of abuses has become far to high for most Americans. Steadily each of these events inflicted another paper cut on the American rightwing establishment. Their collective effect has left both the administration and the Republican dominated Congress bleeding faster and faster every single day. There is no sign that a medic is on the horizon to bandage all of those bleeders. They may be able to stick a little toilet paper on a dripping Rove indictment or use a tiny band-aid to stop this bleeding inversigation or that.

But, they can not stop the bleeding all together. The more blood they loose to the small cuts, the weaker and more disoriented then become. Just a few more nicks, cuts and scratches between now and November and they will be bone dry!

Keep slicing.

1. I suspect we won't be running out of crimes to uncover for a long time.
It's called the BFEE for a reason......

2. Just Got To Get That Subpoena Power Back In The Right Hands.
I hope like hell that despite their current pre-election back peddling, the leadership of this part will run with the freaking ball. If it were up to me, I'd replace them all with people I knew were up to the task!

4. Yup. We're hoping to replace Rep. Stephen J.
(I-never-met-a-war-I-didn't-like) Lynch in the MA 9th Congressional district this fall with a progressive candidate, Phil Dunkelbarger.

3. Millions of citizens who don't believe in them are millions of tiny cuts.

5. We must do something about the youth who refuse to follow politics.
Plus those who only believe Nader.

We must make sure the Black-American enthusiasm is still there in the areas where they were treated like fools.

6. The only reason the cuts are tiny is because they are protected
by the media styptic pencils. Anyone of these abuses SHOULD have caused an aortic gushing that would have washed them out of office.

7. Oh That's Not The Only Reason.
But, is is certainly a large part of the problem!
