Does any have a link
Edited on Mon Jun-19-06 06:50 PM by malaise
for that tragedy in Florida yesterday when an ex army man killed his son 11 year old son in front of neighbours during the kid's birthday party and then went inside and beheaded his wife. I saw it on a Cable channel this morning but haven't seen anything else about it.

Edit for accuracy.

8. Thanks
No mention of his military past here. What can make a man slaughter his own family in this way - good fugging grief.

21. Served in First Gulf War
Meanwhile, new details about the 40-year-old suspect emerged Sunday, including that Nico was his adopted son and that he served in the Army during the Persian Gulf War, according to a longtime family friend.

24. Fugg Desert Storm?
Yep Question Everything indeed.

Meanwhile, new details about the 40-year-old suspect emerged Sunday, including that Nico was his adopted son and that he served in the Army during the Persian Gulf War, according to a longtime family friend.

Karen Arsenault, 51, of Sanford painted a picture of a loving family but one in which both spouses had medical problems. Franklyn Duzant suffered from arthritis and back problems, which he attributed to the war, she said.

"He said all his health problems were from Desert Storm," said Arsenault, who brought flowers to the Duzant home. "He felt like he may have got exposed to some chemicals somehow."

Sometimes the early reports are so rushed they leave out facts that are discovered after filing.

5. Jesus H. Christ. What the F*** is wrong with people?!
Life is hard. Terrible things happen. How does murdering your family make everything better?

My god, people can be dreadful.

It must have been fairly gruesome because his voice was shaking noticeably.

18. He did work with the military
but there's nothing that suggests he was in Iraq. They did mention military this morning. Will edit.

Duzant's neighbors say he moved to the area about five years ago after working for the military in Alaska.

22. He had serious mental health problems
<snip>
The Seminole County Sheriff says deputies have dealt with Duzant in the past.

Back in 2003, Duzant was taken into custody by Seminole County deputies after a standoff in which he threatened to kill himself in the middle of Reflection Lake.

The sheriff's office says he was admitted for psychiatric evaluation.

The sheriff's office says Duzant's wife told deputies at the time that he'd gone off his medication but didn't elaborate beyond that.
