Are they just numbers also?

http://members.aol.com/usregistry/allwars.htm

They say it is "just a number" because the American public is not fully aware that we are involved in war because it does not affect the majority of Americans and it sure as hell doesn't affect people who call themselves supporters of this administration. If Americans were forced to ration goods or if there was a DRAFT (God forbid, I have 2 sons aged 27 & 25), they would rise up in defiance of this administration and it's fascist policies.

Today's war is presented to us in a neat little sanitized package with the promise that it won't affect our daily lives if we just be dutiful little lemmings and follow down the path to the destruction of Democracy.

1. Great link. That Vietnam casualty number always gets me
every time I see it. The cost figures are interesting $111 Billion for Vietnam.....it seems like I read somewhere that this war is about triple that amount.

I've got a 20 year old who would rather go to jail than join up. I'd personally help him "dodge" if it ever came to that....which I don't think it will.
