heat exhaustion and Bush
Last Sunday, I was at a Rick Springfield concert. Outside, very hot, standing room only, 40 minutes late coming on stage. 2 songs in, I went down. The blue shirt guy drug me out of the crowd. The paramedics took me in the back, did their thing...IV, oxygen, etc. They are required to ask 4 questions to check coherence.

1. What city are you in?
2. What year is it?
3. Who is the president? I started laughing and said W, the moron in chief. Somewhere
in Texas, a village is missing it's idiot. Don't blame me, I voted for Kerry!

The paramedic started laughing and said that every time he asks that question, he gets the same reaction. He said that he has now changed his mind about W. His patients are correct in their assessment of the moron. Ann Coulter told Jay Leno that Liberals don't know how to have fun. Wrong! I spent the evening in the Emergency Room!

2. Rick Springfield? You'd suffer like that for Rick Springfield?
You're a FAR better man than I, Gunga Din.

I'd not suffer for that for the Second Coming of Christ.

5. did not hear Jessie's girl
I went with a friend who did not want to go to the concert alone. It was something to do on a Sunday night. I was only trying to be nice to a friend.

9. Did Springfield go into his 'Republican' rap?
The Freepers were going crazy over him a couple of weeks back, because he came ouut as a Repub.

Lost a little respect for the guy at that point.

when it's hot you're close to the front of the stage. I was on the sidelines at a Joe Satriani concert when a guy came out carrying a young woman who had passed out. I myself was in a simliar situation at Webster Hall in New York City. Fortunately, I realized what was happening and told my sister that I had to get out of there. But I should have known the evening wouldn't be smooth one.

My sister, living in upstate New York, didn't know what Webster Hall was a mega-casual spit-on-the-floor kind of venue. If I have any regrets in life, it's that we weren't filmed when she arrived at my home in heels and a disco outfit while I was in jeans and sneakers!
