CNN: Insurgents have the two Missing Soldiers
Edited on Sun Jun-18-06 04:33 AM by Philosoraptor
http://www.cnn.com/

Two U.S. soldiers who survived an attack in Yusufiya were led away by masked insurgents to a pair of cars, Iraqi witnesses told The New York Times. Coalition search teams are scouring land, air and water in Iraq's "Triangle of Death" for the men. A third soldier was killed in the attack at a canal crossing near the Euphrates River.

"There are intelligence indicators they may have been captured alive rather than killed," a senior military official told CNN on Saturday night.

2. This is very bad, very very bad.
A new phase opens in Bush's Dirty Little War. I don't think America will stand for our soldiers being taken hostage, KNOWING we won't have any options on the table and KNOWING this jackass won't negotiate with their kidnappers. He has permitted our military to become weakened and disrupted, making us vulnerable to attack everywhere in the world.

He doesn't value their lives now, why should he care if they are kidnapped?

7. One pundit said he's surprised this hasn't happened a lot more.
And I had to agree, I'd have thought there would have been a lot more hostages taken.

Hopefully we can negotiate a release. We can also pray for their safety. Ultimately, it's Bush's fault, because more and more they are referring to this war as "Bush's War of Choice"

14. There was wailing and gnashing of teeth about violations of the
Geneva Conventions merely for making the videotapes of the captured American soldiers at the beginning of the war. Funny how many of those same people were not nearly as horrified by the "antics" at Abu Ghraib.
