Did anyone happen to see Fox News today with Brian Wilson?
He was reporting on the Vegas pawn shop sniper who shot the judge. Well, the banner on the bottom said that he was "still on the loose." Talk about bad grammar!!! After about 5 minutes, it was corrected to "lose." But e-mailed Fox and said, "Still on the loose?" What kind of idiots are in your news room? I'm glad to see that someone with knowledge of grammar finally corrected it."

1. Well isn't 'loose' the correct term for that saying? Not lose, as in don't
lose your lunch money. It's loose, as in free.

2. You sure loose wasn't correct?
Lose means to lose something.

7. This is completely off topic, but it reminds me of a "homemade"
tattoo that a former neighbor of mine had prominently displayed on his arm:

"BORN TOO LOOSE"

6. Oops, I made a boo-boo. Loose is correct.
I am so used to seeing people use loose for lose that it just triggered something. Oh well, Fox won't reply to me anyway.

9. Wait, you may still have a complaint...
...i.e., if Faux News actually told you the shooting happened in Las Vegas.

It happened in Reno.

16. So did I
We are showing our age. When I saw Brian Wilson in the heading, the first thing I thought of was the Beach Boys. At least it proves that we don't watch Fox News.

21. "LOSE" would be the correct spelling.
I just consulted the freeper dictionary and despite your earlier retraction, you are correct. FOX news spelled it correctly entirely by accident. ;)
