11. He covers his own butt and looks out for his own interest. I recall some

made much of the fact that Powell wouldn't include the Niger yellowcake crap in his UN speech before the Iraq war. Yet according to Hersh's sources Powell included that and the aluminum tube crap in his briefings to Congress before the vote on the IWR. (His own State Dept had repudiated the Niger yellowcake claims even before Wilson's trip to Niger in Feb 2002.)

IIRC, before Ollie North took over his job in Iran Contra, guess who had the job? Powell. IMO, he's primarily a politician serving his own career interests and not a man of personal integrity on matters of fact or truth or the national interest.
