I've begun to realize, that the repubs pretty much are in control of it all. This country will probably collapse if it weren't for the repubs. As democrats, we're more or less expendable, but the economy will be in deep trouble without the repubs and all their money.

I'll gather that their money is needed, otherwise why would they be advertising on a liberal site, which despises everything they stand for? Why would glenn beck be advertising on my local Air America station, if the station did not need the blood money from his show?

We need them more than they need us, which is why we're slowly being eliminated, so they can rule the country for all eternity. However long that may turn out to be.

8. Well, the ads that came up before I clicked to type this were

for BECK music and BECK t-shirts...no doubt generated by the poster who was mentioning the asshole Beck. If you type Republican, it gives you repubican ads. Hell, maybe we oughta all start out our subject lines and message texts with the word SEX, and see what happens!!!

I kept them on for awhile and clicked on one every now and again to support DU, but the E-Bay graphic ads were driving me nuts - distracting me from reading.

Which is a refreshing change from the brutal irony plaguing us all for the past 5 years.

If the GOP are going to funnel tax dollars to anything I think a site that lets me uncover their scams while telling them what I reaallly think of them is pretty sweet.

The challenge will be to maintain editorial/moderation integrity. But, as this site's bread is buttered with liberal thought I don't see that as too big a problem.

use IE. That is the question and none other. If you use a different browser like Firefox with ad blocker you never see the shit. I don't get the excuse that is all I have at work either because if you are at work why the hell are you not working instead of playing on the internet?

I think Google adds operate off of how many views the ad receieves... so every time a DUer views it rather than someone who might be influenced, they've just wasted a small amount of money.
