Since the repukes want to beat us over the head with "CUT N' RUN,"
how about us responding with: "WHERE ARE THE WMDs?" and "WHY IS OSAMA STILL AT LARGE?"

Feel free to add more sound bites progressives can beat the right with.

5. Wait
I don't think that we should get out RIGHT now. Eventually, yeah. We should definitely create a timetable so that we aren't in Iraq for the rest of time. But right now? No.

6. We are never entirely getting out at all
we have established several military compounds (bases) and a huge consulate and we are planting our feet down no matter how many of our Mother's son's and daughter's blood is spilled on the sand...

Just how much blood needs to spill before you think we should start pulling out?? When do you think the conditions in Iraq will ever get any better? Why are they not any better after all these years, and why are the military and police still not trained properly? How long do the Iraqis go with limited power? How long does it take to fix the grid?

I don't know. But I don't agree with pulling out immediately. That's stupid.

People die in war. That's going to happen whether the mission is illegal and justified or not. World War II is generally considered a "just war", but millions of people died.

Don't get me wrong. I don't believe in war because it causes death and destruction. But in war, someone's going to die. It's the nature of the beast.

We should definitely start a timetable where we plan to stop sending in troops by certain dates or milestones. But we'd look really weak if we pulled out suddenly.

9. Not suddenly, but soon and some at a time
A resolution was passed in the house today to not consider a pull-out in Iraq.... That is unacceptable.. To not even consider one? They will be there always, wait and see.. Iraq is a great place to be in the middle east, cause it is right in the middle of the hornet's nest....

12. Once again we let Rove define the language;
and left us stammering. Thom Hartmann is right, this is not a war , it's an occupancy. How about " If you don't have a plan, get out" or " Why babysit a civil war?".Each week I hear Thom bring out "The frame shop" where terms are defined in our language. Why the hell aren't the Dems using them. You mean to tell me that Karl Rove is the only person who can use sound bites effectively. Better wake up and learn to do this right!

14. Agree. We need to look at big picture whenever possible.
IMO, congress is talking about Iraq because the administration feels something worthwhile is about to happen. Perhaps they'll declare victory and pull out 40,000 of the 130,000 troops. That could be spun to look pretty good for the administration. Perhaps Osama will be found, or a small vile of WMD is tracked down in Syria...who knows. But they will put a pretty bow on this and some lipstick and make it work for them by november, at least for a certain percentage of the public.

So, bringing up all manner of outrages whenever possible is necessary and correct. We can't put all our eggs in one basket, ignoring all the other associated ills, misdeeds, immoral actions, and crimes. We need to multitask and bring up Abu Ghraib, Dubai ports, DSM, white phosporous, deficits, 9 billion missing, environment, global warming, Terri Schiavo, body armor, civilian deaths, Katrina...etc. They are all related, all part of a pattern of corruption, narrowmindedness, incompetence, and dysfunction that extends to all policy areas AND THAT HAS MADE IT LESS LIKELY THAT THERE WILL BE AN ACCEPTABLE OUTCOME IN IRAQ in thelong run.

Or am I totally disremembering my history? Why are they pinning Dems as the party that cuts and runs?

20. Yep, it was a Republican who "lost" Vietnam
Not that I think it could ever have been won. But next time the GOP calls Dems the "party that cuts and runs", we should remind them which party was in power when the U.S. gave up on Vietnam.

21. Okay a question, please please please
somebody tell me why Cut and Run is negative? Is this like a human male thing where Cut and Run equates with you have a very small penis, a chick pea sized balls? Why does this work? Are politicians that concerned about re-election that they will send people to their deaths, grievous bodily harm or mental anguish to show they have fucking balls? Ooooh look at me I *brave* enough to vote to kill... Fuckwads!

What a bunch of shit. Voting to stay the course, when the most you've done is take a 2 day pampered trip in country is the epitome of "No Balls".

Why is the favorite meme of Rush and Hannity an effective tool?

I am so angry about this...
