So what is happening with the NSA/phone records issue?

Has anyone heard anything else about the lawsuits? It's like the whole issue has been forgotten already.

The potential abuse of that sort of program seems pretty bad. Is there any hope of making it stop?

Welcome to DU and keep asking. Thats the only way to keep the issue alive...

Of course you could throw in a gratuitous "Coulter" reference for some added action and I am sure there would be a lot of "helpful" souls out there eager to share their thoughts.... :sarcasm:
They just won't be about the unimportant stuff like NSA spying. ;)

2. Arlen Specter has cut a deal

He agreed not to proceed with his investigation if the administration would agree to legislation that will basically legalize the NSA monitoring, with *some* judicial oversight:eyes:

Our entire society is about information. If a corporate state didn't have access to that, I might believe in God, because that would be a miracle.

4. Thanks, DU'ers. I really want to cry over so many things. Just

cannot believe that this stuff is allowed to carry on, after our ancestors worked so hard to prevent it. We are quickly losing 200 years of people working and dying for our freedoms, and people just don't bother to pay attention. This Admin comes in and just does whatever they want and Congress sits by and allows it to happen.
