A Sure Sign that our American Experiment is Dead! (Repuke military)
Edited on Thu Jun-15-06 01:40 PM by maxrandb
**edited because I was pissed when I wrote it**

When the Pentagon, which is charged with protecting and defending ALL Americans, issues coordinated "talking points" for the Republican Party, you can stick a fork in the once great United States, because it's done. When the Pentagon, which is required to be apolitical, works in collusion with one party to defeat another...Democracy is dead. The Pentagon is supposed to defend and protect Democrats, Republicans, Greens, Liberals, Conservatives, Libertarians, and Wing-nuts of all political stripes. They work for you and I. They work for every American that pays taxes, and even those that don't. Well, I want a refund. It's one thing for the military to do what they are supposed to do, and follow the orders of the Commander in Chief. It's quite another when they pick sides. Our military is the strongest in the world. I never thought it would be used against me.

This is serious and important. One of the main reasons that our little experiment in Democracy has lasted as long as it has, and one of the only reasons that we have peaceful transfers of power, is because the Pentagon (read military) IS NOT PERMITTED TO BE A POLITICAL ENTITY!!!

There was a very good reason that the framers of our country ensured civilian control of the military. That was to prevent the senior military officials from entering into a "protective" agreement with either a king, or a politician.

You want to see Democracy die quickly? Let one party control the military.

Leaders from both damn parties better demand an investigation into this, and they better get to the bottom of who authorized this, who paid for it, who commissioned it, and who timed the release.

Am I putting my tin-foil hat on too tight, or does this look like collusion between the military (which is supposed to answer to and protect ALL AMERICANS) and the Bush regime? Is our military...the military of ALL THE UNITED STATES...preparing "talking points" for the Repuke Party?

We're looking more and more like a dictatorship every day. Are there any Dems, or Republicans with integrity, that care enough about our country, that they would be willing to PUT THE PENTAGON BACK IN IT'S BOX???

Hell, I might as well resign my commission and move to Iraq. It's like we've switched places. We're trying to establish, in Iraq, the Constitutional government we used to have here, and in America, we're establishing the government they used to have in Iraq.

This is as "effed up as a soup sandwich".

2. Is it even legal!!
Let alone constitutional?

You wouldn't expect the Pentagon to publish talking points about the need for Social Security reform would you? How is this different?

3. Likie the end of the Roman Republic.
during the last hald century of the republic citizen armies loyal to thier fellow citizens were replaced by quasi-mercinary armies loyal to the politician/generals that paid them and gave them the Ancient Roman equivalent of pork (promises of land in conquered territories).

5. It's ironic that you mention that
"citizen armies loyal to their fellow citizens".

With Rush and Hannity pumped into AFRTS 7 days a week, 365 days a year, how "loyal" do you think some in the military are to their fellow American citizens that happen to identify themselves as Democrats?

7. Not very.
Also, I'd assume that the average family of a soldier is more conservative then average in the first place.

4. Well, what do you expect from Bushite corporations gaining control of
our election system, and "counting" all the votes with "TRADE SECRET," PROPRIETARY programming code? In plain view, right under our noses: SECRET, PRIVATE, BUSHITE-CONTROLLED VOTE TABULATION. We might as well be in Stalinist Russia. And it's only logical that they would use secret, private, Bushite-controlled vote tabulation to gain secret, private Bushite control of the US military. There is little we can do about their use of our military--and everything else that is ours--for cementing their power over us, but there IS still something we can do about the secret vote counting, at the state/local level, where decisions about voting equipment are still made, and where ordinary people still have some influence. We have a window of opportunity to restore transparent elections. I don't know how long that window will be open. We had better take advantage of it. I would not declare that "the American Experiment is dead" until we have mounted a full scale effort to restore our right to vote. Most of what the Bushites are doing is against the will of the great majority of the American people. It is we, the people, who ARE the American Experiment. We are the sovereigns here. So let's start acting like it, and take back our power, starting with the most important mechanism of our sovereignty: our right to vote.

6. All the institutions that are supposed to be apolitical with the
intention of keeping power out of the hands of one group have been infiltrated by the bags of shit that are at the top in our country. Thank god there are still people who know exactly what is going on (like a few military generals) who are true patriots and speak out. Now if only the MSM weren't over-run with sluts who keep these things from becoming common knowledge. Thank God for the alternative media and groups like this one.

8. Yeah!
Our MSM via Chris Matthews was covering the extremely important controversy over whether Tucker Carlson would slip his tube-steak to Ann Coulter.

Meanwhile, the effing military is pumping out Republican Talking Points and we get **crickets**

11. I can't believe that the military publishes Repuke talking points
then attempts to "recall" them via the Outlook recall feature...and it gets 8 responses from DU.

Am I alone in seeing this a some seriously bad shit regarding the future of our democracy?

Am I alone in seeing an end to the peaceful transfer of power from one party to the other, because the Pentagon has become an arm of the RNC?

Am I alone in thinking that the next elected Democratic President is going to have to clean out the senior "politboro" O6 and above officers in the military?

Am I alone in thinking that the Pentagon being cought red-handed preparing briefing papers for the RNC and then attempting to recall those papers is the single most important issue of the day?

Do I need to remind folks what has happened in other countries and in other governments when the military backs a certain political party or philosophy?

Is anyone as freaked out about this as I am?

in the US. Get "Body of Secrets" by James Bamford and read the chapter entitled "fists."

We came real close to a military coup.

12. I was talking to militaryHusband about this
and his inclination was to blame an "overzealous staffer"! Well, where have I heard that before? Then he wanted me to find the document because it is SO over the top in military ethics he doesn't want to believe it happened. Frankly, I don't know why he is surprised, seems pretty standard for this group to me. And yet, I'm still shocked and horrified.

15. At a minumum "pissed" is a plenty apppropriate response.
Don't know what you edited in that vein, but this really really belongs on the front page IMHO. The turmoil in my stomach and the chill in my veins becomes more and more visceral every passing day.

20. It is not!
"A republic, if you can keep it," said Ben Franklin.

And we CAN! 226 years of freedom cannot be for nothing! It WILL prevail! We can keep this republic and we will!
