Faux developing a version of The Daily Show?
Imagine A Fox Version Of The Daily Show
Rupert Murdoch's recent cocktail party "unexpectedly featured Roger Ailes getting off a couple of Jon Stewart-quality jokes at the expense of the president," Forbes' James Brady says. "Ailes, a onetime talk show producer who used to hone the image of Republican presidential candidates and now heads Fox TV for Murdoch, is a jolly fellow and an acknowledged wit. But whacking Bush in public? Yet here he was, asking rhetorically:"

"Thirty years ago, the National Guard couldn't find George Bush; how are they expected to find Mexicans?"

By the way, is Fox creating a show styled after Stewart's Daily Show for FNC and/or Fox Broadcast?...

3. To be fair, that joke is not even close to "Jon Stewart quality"
It's closer to Jay Leno quality.

5. And, saying "The Guard couldn't find Bush" isn't really a crack at Bush
to me, it implies Bush was where he was supposed to be, just the Guard couldn't keep accurate records.

8. Are they going to speak truth to power
I guess not cause they are the power and control everything. What would they do make fun of minorities, gay and poor people all day. That's knee slapping stuff.

:sarcasm:

12. It'll bomb
I don't think that the Fox audience is savy enough to take on a 'Daily' style show. It also doesn't fit in with the format of the rest of network. Odds are, it will bomb and it will bomb big.

18. Daily Show style...
But with "Larry the Cable Guy" humor. The right doesn't get it unless you spell it out for them.

Perfect example: Delay didn't know Colbert was joking...

15. They can't be funny; they're not smart enough.
The kind of humor that comes from Stewart requires a level of intelligence and a thought process that they don't posess. It will never work.
