Today's press conference reminded me of a story in the Onion
http://www.theonion.com/content/node/28470

Today King George stood before the press corps and announced that he was seeing hopeful signs in Iraq. But if the only part of Iraq he saw was the Green Zone, how could he make such blanket pronouncements about the whole country? Maybe an additional trip to any place outside of the Green Zone would give these statements more credibility. But we all know that won't happen.

To make an assessment about all of Iraq from the safety of the Green Zone means he is trying to play us for chumps. And the press is not calling him on this either.

The Onion piece makes a ficticious woman seem stupid for judging all of Brazil from a small area around her touristy resort. And isn't that what is now being done with Iraq? How stupid does he think we are?

1. Stupid? Oh, they know...
read my tag line. It is just as relevant today as it was, then.
