because in this age of gym-fit bodies, 40 isn't what it used to be. You're spot on about no. 1, though - a black cocktail dress is totally inappropriate attire for an early morning television appearance, especially for someone who wants to be taken seriously.

I believe Ms. Coulter has an image of herself in her own mind that's probably the way she looked when she was 20 years younger and possibly even had some meat on her bones, instead of the dried-up, stringy harridan she is nowadays. It also explains her hairstyle. Coulter sees herself as a major babe, in contrast to what everybody else sees.

Of course, the most repugnant part of Ann Coulter is on the inside. She's personification of the saying "beauty's only skin deep, but ugly goes clear through to the bone."

10. I doubt her numbers

Due to a very simple theory based on an unscientific set of observations.

I am a book hunter. Simply, I collect books. I stop off at the Goodwill and Salvation Army stores with regularity and don't pass many garage sales. Most "Best Sellers" wind up in those locations. A large number of folks read books and discard them - I pick up the ones of value or that interest me.

Political books have a short life. The Rush books, the Al Franken books and the Bill Bennett books are regular staples of the 2nd hand circuit. I have NEVER seen a Coulter book. I can't explain it except to offer that the bulk buyers must send em straight to recycling. :shrug:

Coulter makes the rounds on Fox's various shows. Jay Leno likes her, so she makes an appearance, and soon Scarborough and Tucker and media whore Matthews follow suit. And Today Show (all NBC, if you haven't noticed).

So then the others have to follow, lest they be accused of "liberal media bias."

It's a self-fulfilling prophecy.
