It's all about the Election, Stupid

After reading all the post-no-indictment analysis, I am strongly convinced it is all about the November election.

Just like delaying crime awareness until after the November 2004 election, the same thing is happening today.

Libby helped the "cause" by delaying his trial until 2007. Rove's mission with all his appearances and consultations was the same. Delay any kind of additional scandal that could hurt the Repigs in Nov this year.

And he did just that. Whether it's agreeing to pile on Libby next year(less likely, IMHO, since the case is pretty airtight without him) or ratting out someone else in the future, he achieved his goal.

For the time being, at least.
