Do YOU KNOW how YOUR reps will vote on Iraq withdrawal amendment?
Edited on Tue Jun-13-06 07:11 PM by blm
True Majority, at least, is pushing awareness of the Iraq vote.

I haven't received a notice from any of the other left sites that would indicate they are working to promote Democratic withdrawal plans. If anyone is aware of any site or BLOG that is pushing Iraq withdrawal plans, please post here.

And if they ARE NOT - - WHY NOT? Gary Hart said in his speech the other day that NO DEMOCRAT can sit on the sidelines any more - every Dem must work together to get behind a plan for Iraq.

Have you contacted your reps about the vote?

Iraq in Congress this week:

Hold Their Feet to the Fire

Dear
Tell your representative to stand up in Congress and demand a plan for withdrawing American troops from Iraq.

After months of pressure from TrueMajorityACTION and a lot of other groups, Congress is really feeling the pressure to talk about Iraq. The House leadership had promised a debate to begin this week, but now it's become clear their real plan is to dance around the issue again. You have an opportunity to remind them that we want our leaders to face the war head-on.

John Kerry just introduced a surprise Senate amendment to get our soldiers out of Iraq, but the House is ducking the issue. Don't let them. When the House attempts its charade this week, insist that your representative speak out for a real Iraq withdrawal plan.

If you're a TrueMajorityACTION member, click "Reply" and "Send" to send your representative a message. If you were forwarded this message or would like to edit the letter (below), visit the following site:

http://action.truemajority.org/campaign/iraq_vote

We’ll monitor the entire debate, and will let you know what your representative did, or didn’t do, during this critical discussion about the future of this awful war.

Your eyes and ears in Washington,

Darcy Scott Martin
TrueMajorityACTION

1. True Majority is really consistent on this.
I really like them. They "keep it real" - I think.

2. Hardly any blogs are even on this, and aren't even aware that Murtha is
behind it, too.

9. You are so right -
The true majority statements, some of the best military minds this country ever produced are behind it.

And on the other side other is W - The wanna be fighter pilot. Closest he ever came to combat was coming home drunk to Laura.

Col. Murtha is clearly a good man. And this is the saddest situation I think our country ever faced.

3. I called Wyden
I got the routine, "I'll tell the Senator". Maybe I'll call back tomorrow and push for a commitment, I'd think he would be on board for one or the other amendment, maybe both.

10. I hope you at least have a competative house race
My Congressman is Jones and the one next door is Butterfield and neither one will lose unless they get found with a live boy or dead girl in their beds.
