Deal not "discussed"
Some lawyers can be tricky little weasels. When Luskin was quoted as saying that "no deal has been discussed in any way, shape or form", the key word is "discussed."

The way he shaped that sentence could mean that there is a deal, although it hasn't been discussed, exactly. Maybe it hasn't been directly discussed by Fitzgerald and Rove. Maybe it was discussed by one of Fitzgerald's assistants and one of Luskin's assistants. Maybe it was all done in writing.

If Luskin had said there was absolutely no deal of any kind involving Rove in connection with the Plame case, I'd be more willing to believe him.

1. This sucks...
That slimeball Rove is walking around thumbing his nose, and we're parsing statements from fucking lawyers.

Not a lot of comfort there, bro

2. Grasping At Straws
He's powerful and evil, and will NEVER be held to account. Face it. Accept it. He's won. Trying to find positives is just creating false hope. There is NO hope. He's in the clear, and there's nothing we can do about it. He won, we lost, get over it.

3. Did he really win?
There's going to be forever a black cloud of doubt hanging over his head.

And as long as the investigation is on-going, and Libby is eventually brought to justice, the GOP will always be seen as the party who put politics ahead of national security in many American's minds.

Speaking of Libby, it's almost a guarantee Rove will be called to testify during his trial. There's no telling what revelations will be exposed from his testimony.

5. "Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?"
as Bluto asked in "Animal House"

Just to lighten things up for a moment...

I was a newspaper reporter for nearly 30 years and had to deal with a lot of lawyers and prosecutors and politicians. My gut instinct tells me there's a lot going on that we don't know about. As far as I'm concerned, it ain't over until it's over.

When and if Fitzgerald himself calls a news conference, or files new court papers, we may know more. I don't think this thing is over by a long shot. It could mean that KKKarl is off the hook for this one thing, but if we can win the November elections and take back Congress, he could be right back on a different hook.

6. IF We Can Win Elections And Take Back Congress?
Do you really think those in power are going to allow that to happen. I know it's what you want. I know you truly believe that if we give it all we have, there's a chance.

But truly, deep down inside, you know we'll all be here on November 5, trying to figure out what went wrong.
