Will Someone Direct Me Some Books That Definitively States
The Progressive Philosophy?

I would like to know the philosophy that I think I support.

I support:

The working class and its struggle for fair and equal economic justice in the marketplace; is that progressive?

An egalitarian society based upon freedom from discrimination by sex, race, or economic status; is that progressive?

A just and accountable government selected by the people and operating for the people; is that progressive?

Social action to correct social depredation, is that progressive?

A combing of purpose and effort by all peoples toward achieving a better world for those who follow us; is that progressive?

These are among the things I believe a political philosophy should espouse. I am hoping someone will direct me towards those books which explain the Progressive Political Philosophy.

1. go to amazon and type social science into the search engine
Why do you need a book? You seem to know what you believe already.

4. My thoughts exactly. You have just written a fine start of your own
sensible, passionate progressive manifesto. Just get rid of the questions and let's start the revolution!

2. It's fiction but I think it does a good job of tying all the principles
together. Ecotopia by Ernest Callenbach. (sp?)

3. Go online to:
www.rockridgeinstitute.org

This is a progressive liberal think tank. I think you will gain understanding and even a good definition of the progressive philosophy.

Just a note: I am going to click on the link I provided to be sure it works. If it is ok I will not have to edit this. I posted the link from memory.

5. ThomHartmann.com is a good place to start. And all of his books
state the progressive philosophy. He will have a new book out soon-- "Screwed: The Undeclared War on the Middle Class" that should be great, mainly because it will be the most current.

6. It's better to find out here.
Post what you think, and any time someone accuses you of being a FReeper, then you know you've got something wrong and have to change it. That is the only way to maintain a pure progressive philosophy.

NOTE: This post is sarcastic.
