What credibility does Luskin have?
Edited on Tue Jun-13-06 01:26 PM by Tiggeroshii
Correct me if I'm wrong but he's said some things in the past that weren't true(re: Rove isn't a subject of the investigation, he played no part in the leak, he never mentioned Plame in conversation). But despite this, the New York Times still goes about and takes Luskin's word for assuring Fitzgerald has let him off the hook. Is this believable? Is the letter from Fitz which Luskin claims to have received published in the Times? The whole thing kind of seems a little. Odd.

Edit to add:

The Times even goes about to say that Fitzgerald has said this, "ending the nearly three years investigation." Again, getting your information from Luskin doesn't seem more credible than getting your information from say, Rove(recently said Bush has 60% approval).

3. The investigation isn't over until it's officially declared over, and that
would likely come from Fitzgerald's office, not an attorney affiliated with the case. I believe there's more to this than meets the eye, and as always, we can speculate all we want, but until something official is announced, it's just speculation, and we all know what that's worth sometimes.

I think there are more good things to come, but they'll come when Fitz is ready, not because of anything else.

4. He's as credible as any mafia lawyer
In fact, he sort of IS a mafia lawyer. For example, he represented Stephen Saccoccia, convicted money launderer for several Columbian drug lords, during his appeals process and, according to US Attorney Sheldon Whitehouse, was paid over $500,000 in gold bars for the trouble.

5. Well, it's the OTHER shoe that could be interesting
The first shoe that he's dropped is that Rove isn't gonna be indicted.

The second shoe could well be "...if he sings like a well-fed canary."

Maybe he flipped, who knows?

6. I don't trust any lawyer...
Let alone lawyers working for BushCo which claims to be above the law.
