Terry Gross is struggling trying to keep the conversation flowing and rational, but Gross is not helping Cheney polish her image.

Mary Cheney isn't exactly the darling of the left. This may help her book sales, but I have a feeling it won't help much.

18. Gross asked her about the amendment (and the 2004 version)

Cheney took both sides of the issue: she hated the amendment but wasn't a one-issue voter. She feels that * was the only choice when it came to leading the US in a time of war.

She still ripped into Kerry about his reference to her being a lesbian. Gross called her on the hypocrisy of being sensitive about the issue but being a homosexual spokesperson for Coors Beer, but Cheney refused to back down.

Best estimate: Cheney's appearance on Fresh Air netted her about 10 more books.

My candid opinion: Mary Cheney would have been better off keeping her distance from daddy and not compromising her ideals. Now she looks like a fucking idiot.

He said that none of the conservative books sell well. We're in an allegedly red county, too. It's pretty socially liberal, though. He said it seems that a lot of conservatives come in and don't want to spend the money on a $25 hardcover. Steve wears a thick tinfoil hat, but he's extremely liberal and he enjoys debating with the conservatives that come into the store. He said that he's had several soldiers from Iraq come in (military base in town) and none have been a supporter of the president or the war, even though many started out supporters.
