Hannity going after Daily Kos and Kos himself
(cross-posted at Daily Kos - if anyone heard this more fully, or knows where I can pull up a transcript, would you please post here?? Thanks.)

While listening yesterday to the most despised of radio right wing liars, Sean Hannity, I caught a part of a conversation that he was having. I did not catch it all and cannot pull up a transcript from his radio show, as I can't find if they are available. But he was talking about Daily Kos, Yearly Kos, and Kos himself.

Hannity was talking about how Kos said something years ago about the military and he was trumpeting it as how "the left gets away with this type of hate speech," while people like poor little Ann Coulter get bashed for her speech. I didn't catch the quote he was using and saying that Kos said, but it was said, if true, years ago, before Daily Kos became big and Kos became a media presence. Someone did point that out on his show.

I am sorry for the vague details, but I did not see this discussed anywhere else, and if anyone else heard this, more details would be great.

Also, I think that Hannity needs to be called out on any lies and misrepresentations he makes of the Daily Kos or this site on his radio show. He calls us the "angry left," calls us extreme, and full of hate for our very brave president. He calls Kos a hateful extremist who dares say anything about the military. He says that the people on Democratin Underground are dangerous extremists. We are blinded by hate for Bush, he says, so we cannot see that Iraq is really going very well, don't you see that, you hateful bloggers??

But seriously, if he is going to target Daily Kos or this site, it means he is scared. He is really whiny about it, too, which means he is threathened by the success of the Democrats on the internet(s). He cannot even sell out his Orwellian named "Freedom" Concert, and he knows his days are numbered. So he attacks us here. He attacks the Daily Kos.

I think he should receive a response from us.

Hannity & I chat about Kos
11 Comments Published by Mike Stark June 12th, 2006 in Sean Hannity
Hannity wanted to beat Markos, and by extension, Democrats, over the head with Kos’ two year old comments about mercs… I did my best to swat the charge away, but Hannity kept hammering it while cutting my mic… I’m not sure it maade any dents in his listenership, but I think I did as well as I could under the circumstances.

I just wish I had the chance to ask, “Well, which is worse - a kid that grew up watching mercenaries - contract killers - destroy his home country… that kid growing up with a contempt for mercs, or Ann Coulter trying to shut down democratic debate by calling 9/11 widows harpies and broads?”

Maybe next time….

10. Here is the update
Update: Here is the audio:

http://www.callingallwingnuts.com/

Hannity repeatedly misrepresented Kos' comments, saying that he made them about our soldiers, not the mercenaries that were over in Iraq killing for money. Mike corrected him, though, but Hannity plowed on, saying that the Daily Kos was extreme because people there have said that Bush is the Butcher of Baghdad and other quotes he must have spent hours picking out.

Hannity was talking about how "the left gets away with this type of hate speech," while people like poor little Ann Coulter get bashed for her speech.

3. A movement is underfoot to take down liberal bloggers/sites.
Discredit them, label them extreme and hateful. I have no doubt that eventually, news sites like Kos and TO and boards like DU will be shut down as a threat to national security. In fact, I heard over the weekend from the Pentagon that the internet has become "the new Afghanistan" as a place for terrorsists to meet and plan. Connect the dots.

4. Good reason to attack the 'liberal' press is precisely why Leopold
was set-up, IMO.

No more 'party of corruption', or less vialble, and they can point to TO/Leopold, as they are already doing, by suggesting that Rove should receive apologies!

5. Markos is on their radar screen now.
He's successful, literate, influential, eloquent and logical - and he can motvate millions of voters.

Yup, they're scared of him. Shitless, in fact.

7. Yawn. Hannity? Hannity who? Oh, the lying, untrustworthy windbag
on Fox "News" -- the one whose numerous lies are well documented all over the place, including here: http://www.americanprogress.org/site/pp.asp?c=biJRJ8OVF&b=91585 and here: http://www.kerrysupport.com/FrankenVHannity.pdf#search='sean%20hannity%27s%20lies' and -- for heaven's sake, go google it yourself.

Who cares what liars say? In the case of people desperate for attention (so they can prove they have ratings), I say ignore them.

11. I care, because he has millions of listeners
who then spread the lies, and get the MSM debating the lies. DO you ever wonder why 1/2 of this country voted for Bush a SECOND time?? It was because of liars like Hannity going unchallenged for years.

No more. We need to challenge every lie. It is easier to ignore them, but we cannot afford to anymore.

15. I hate to point this out, but you don't have a national radio program.
Getting the truth out there is a lot harder than it looks. I know darn good and well why Junior is still in the White House: people who voted for him are either / or ignorant, uninformed, evil and/or stupid, while the rest of the equation = election fraud.

Calling him just makes him feel important. I suggest you just point and laugh when people say they listen to Rush or Hannity or Fox, because it really is the only thing you can do -- the fans of those shows don't care about little things like REALITY or THE TRUTH; they live in a fantasy world where they can adore the words of their prophets -- the ones who preach how they, too, can be part of the "in crowd" if they only ignore the siren song of REALITY....

8. Hmmm......
The attack dogs of the right are now focusing on those that can hurt them the worst, the grass-roots bloggers and those that circumvent prevaricating, pontificating bloviaters such as Hannity, and bring truth to the masses outside of the mainstream media.

Rupert Murdoch cannot buy Kos, and his minions fear him and it shows.

9. I heard some of that.
What Kos had said was that he had no pity on the mercenaries who were killed in Iraq because they were hired killers. Hannity kept trying to say that Kos meant the U.S. military.

12. Yes, thank you - that is exactly what Hannity did
and Mike from Albany corrected him, twice, but Hannity just plowed on in his lies.

I am going to call today and correct him again.
