Seriously, I think we're in for a disappointing November. The republicans still have the federal government wrapped up, they still control the election machinery in several key states, they still have vast corporate backing, and lapdog "news"media outlets still catapult their propaganda 24/7. The mega-churches push their congregations to the voting booth by the millions to disenfranchise homosexuals and ban abortions -- oh and by the way, vote for the politicians who support their side of the wedge issues. Worse yet, bush just got himself a $480-million slush fund from a trade dispute settlement with Canada, and you can bet a big chunk of that's going straight into the RNCC coffers. A few individual lawmakers may fall by the wayside, but their juggernaut is far from collapse.
All we have are the opinions of people tired of war and exploitation. Public opinion is fickle and subject to manipulation -- Propaganda Works. Our opinions today are one thing, our opinions in November quite another. Meanwhile, Democrats squabble incoherently and fail utterly to present anything resembling a unified front. I am deeply concerned: we have squandered far too much in the primaries, and the winter will bring cold tidings.
Besides, what does it matter if their philosophy is founded on mud, when it's built entirely of bullshit? It always stinks but never quite sinks.
