In a nutshell..

My family is the oldest anglo family of record (1630)in what is now Texas.

We are heavy into oil & gas and KBR.

Ms. Mosbacher has, apparently, a quite checkered past (rumored to have been a Society Hooker)and when she has had enough to drink she is a major handful.

I was once at a Nomad's Dinner at the Petroleum Club in Houston and stood about three feet from Georgette, Lynn (Ms Oscar) Wyatt and Arianna (Ms Steve) Huffington while all three were screaming at one another. Then, at precisely the same instant, they each threw their drinks on the others.
Their husbands were nowhere to be seen.

I met them once while interviewing for a job ("Assistant to famous writer" sounded a lot more glamorous before I got there and found it was bookkeeping, staff payroll, office management, and pinch-hitting for the nannies). The Mrs seemed to have enough ego for the two of them, but it was nowhere near as colorful an encounter as yours, lol.

relatives was in line behind me and interested in the book I was buying. (The book was by a liberal NW professor-sociologist.) We had a great conversation and I'm sorry I lost contact with him because he was a damn cute liberal Dem that despised his right-wing-idiot-Bush-loving relatives. His reaction to a stranger was "Oh God, the stories I could tell you," about her.
